firstly, i was expecting something along the lines of push-blue midnight. but...

sounds really fresh from the start. nice bassline.

the sweeping sound that starts at 0;45 gets a bit repetetive and could be used a bit less often..

great arrangement that would be very dj friendly.

full sounding.

break: nice but not quite epic enough for me... main melody is also pleasant. maybe a different synth tho.. sounds a bit softwareish.

melody@5;30 is really nice and a lot more pro sounding.

main section; very full but i think some of those softwarey synths hold it back... as said by drow; sounds a bit chaotic.

6;57- sounds a lot more to my likeing.

overall a nice track that sounds like it would integrate well within a mix.

by the way... how do i control soft synths using cubase? im only using hardware at the mo..

rich:)

ps. subtle, i remember you being a bit of a m.i.k.e fan. im influenced by him a lot so you may like my stuff... please check my dj eau rmx slightly down the list of threads... or on my website:)

richg101: thx for feedback, yeah im not the biggest fan of software sounds, im not sure how u control software in Cubase as i dont do that..
M.I.K.E is my favorite producer indeed, a pure genious..

i will check out ur music, thx again :)
Fundamental
Hey Subtle, very nice track mate! Let me try and do a review type thingy though...

Ok firstly that intro is quality. Great percs and bass; it really had me tapping my feet! The break starting at 2:12 is really nice. It gives that haunting pad synth some space to do it's stuff. The effects have been pretty cool too so far. 4 minutes now, and the track has been building up a lot. The high up and down lead is very nice sounding (cool melody on that one), but the synth that comes in at 4:10 just seems to muddle up the mix a bit. Now the disappointing thing is, I know it would sound excellent if it was more... well, subtle. :p You could maybe try changing it for some kind of plucky sound. :) Another break at 5 minutes, and I get that ominous feeling that it's all gonna kick back in. Ah, new melody though (an one that takes you to the end of the song). Once the melodies have gone we're left with that cool distorted synth (very nice). Now I may be strange but I seemed to be getting into the parts without melodies (intro and outro especially) more than the rest of the tune. Yeah, I must be weird. :p

Good tune overall! I liked how it builds itself up, but sometimes I think it may be taking too long. Don't be scared to introduce more than one element at a time! Really cool atmosphere you've created for this though. I'll be listening to this one a few more times. :D

Thanks for sharing! :)

Cool percs, yeah. The bassline is nice, but has a nasty flopp-sound every time it starts to play a note. After hearing the whole song, I kinda feel that is was a bit too repetetive.. Like, the same over and over.. But cool groove to this one

some quality stuff as always! i'm used to hear good stuff from you and this track is no exception! ;)

Quite a nice tune, definately some neat Lolo influences :)

I don't really like the synth at 4:10, seems totally out of place for the track... Also don't like the pattern it plays. I'd love to hear the full track without it actually. Up to you of course :)

Cheers,
Wim
Subtle
Fundamental: thx for feedback :), damn, i need to change that main lead..

Pea: i kinda noticed the muffled sound, i better try to ignore it :p

Klangz: danke :)

Icone: thx, well i started the track based on that riff, and now it turns out it doesnt fit after all, i tried various types of lead sounds as well, none worked.. well, i might make a dub

thanks again:thepirate

okay, commenting as I listen
Nice rythm, heavy kick. Not bad at all how you start this.
lol, that phaser FX starting at 0:45 sounds exactly like the one in "Star Wash - Disco Fans", a 1996 rave classic :D
Completely loving all the percussive elements you've thrown in...
All in all, the buildup is very slow, that is a stylistic device too, but I agree that there might be more going on.
2:55 ... I'm not such a huge fan of the metallic lead thing, it doesnt really correspond with the rest of the tune... just my impression tho.
I'd soften the notes of the lead @5:00 and remove the noise on them a little. Might again just be my taste... The melody is not bad though.
6:53 is again very nice. Very dreamy feeling to that tune which I like.

Quite a good tune, I agree that it might need some more interchange and little fixes, but basically you got a good looking track you can be very content with.

Hi... jsut listened to your track, here are some opinions:

The beat in the beginning grooves well, nice sound effects also...
Sounds very promising... the percussion/effects after 3:20 are really cool. The main melody is a bit of a let-down, too repetitive without any rhythmic variations. On all of these elements you could really build a smashing track by developing the main melody because now itīs not memorable enough...

Best regards, Lakeus

Cool sampling.

4:13 kinda ruined the groove for me. Consider a different synth, maybe.

Good track. I liked it a lot once things really got going.

very nice track...keep good working !!

Hi dude,

Nice starting track with firm beat, I like that. Nice little effects and stabs.
Percussion sounds good, though minimal in the real upfront ones. No complaints about that.
At 3:00 I'm still waiting for a theme and a hook.. I like the sounds in it but I'm missing a good fill. At 4 some arps and leads come in. Bit disappointed by those. They just come in unannounced and I dont actually like the melody nor the sound. Pluck in the break around 5:30 I like better, but this one is a bit dry and loud. After the break it's just too much sounds I guess, it doesnt grab me I'm sorry to say.
Still some positive points here about the percussion and the drive, you should continue with things like that and give some more attention to a hook in the track.
Technical side is ok, maybe the kick drowns here and here and the upper high end could use a mastering boost for crispness.

Overall not bad, keep up m8.
