FRIDAY
Got to Oakland around noon. So far, everything was as scheduled, actually, our flight arrived 20 minutes early. My friend Lisa went to pick us up at the airport, but I stayed waiting for John (Orbital) while my other friend took off with Lisa. John finally showed up. We took the Bart. To our surprise, the BART station was at the doorsteps of my hotel – THE RAMADA on 8th & Market. We went up to Walgreen’s on the corner and we noticed the sign across the street… SKILLS & SPUNDAE PRESENT… WOOHOOO!!!! We scored!!!! Our hotel was across the street from all the action! Nice! SORRY JOHN! ;)

Since we had all this time to kill, we decided to be tourists and took the cable cars to Fisherman’s Warf. That was an odd experience. The driver kept stopping the car asking everyone to move back. He kept shutting it down until everyone moved to the back. Some of the locals were rude. They kept shouting stuff to other people like: WHAT YOU LOOKING AT WHITE BOY, or shouting to the driver YOU. Lol, Interesting experience.

Back to our hotel. We got dressed, drunk, waited for friends, and finally took off to MEZZANINE - The LOVE LEE Party - which BTW, was walking distance!!! Again, WE SCORED!!!!! Woohoo… Once inside, people kept coming on to me. AREN’T YOU DJ WOODY? By the sixth person that asked me that, I began freaking out. I kept texting Michelle telling her what was going on. I’m not used to being recognized out of town. I remember running into the usual TA’s, Sarah, Tigo, Bas, Bunny, KarenLuvs2Party, and a few others. I also remember being so drunk, that I was hanging out with security at the door! Lol… I was sitting on a chair with them while they checked IDs. Then I took off upstairs, sat on a couch. Unfortunately that’s all I remember as I completely past out on that couch until my friends found me. We took off! There's a first time for everything. LMAO

SATURDAY
Sorry, I missed the TA meet up. Several of you called me to see if I was going to make it, but I was stuck at the other side of San Francisco.

The LOVE PARADE…
We got there around 12:30pm, walked around and checked out a few floats. I noticed many of the floats were the same from last year. I was really impressed with the sound systems this year. Unlike last year, most floats had awesome systems. I noticed many floats had Mackie sound systems. They sounded clean. The parade started, we stayed on 3rd and Market and watched every float go by – until the Spundae float, we walked alongside with it. During the parade route, I stopped and got me some Coffee Bean and off the parade I go.

The LOVE PARADE GROUNDS…
This was by far the most memorable part of my whole LP Experience. The music was really good, and sorry to say I didn’t stick around the Spundae float much. I kept bouncing back and forth between all floats. For me, the PsyTrance float and Carl Cox had to be the most fun. Carl threw down a sick set! He definitely got my respects again. I wasn’t impressed with him the last two times I saw him. OMG!!!! That remix of Innercity’s – Good Life that he played… I MUST GET IT! He also dropped Insomnia’s - Faithless. One of the DJs at the PsyTrance float played a Psy remix of Soft Cell’s – Tainted Love. Anyone know what song that is? I MUST GET IT!!!! Noticeably, Techno was missed this year, well with the exception of Carl Cox. Last year, there was several floats playing techno. Also, breaks was huge this year. I kept hearing breaks all around. I must say that Spundae, Thump Radio, and the Psy Trance float were the most happening ones. I even saw a Papas & Beer float (Mexico), and a hip hop float sponsored by THE SOURCE Magazine. And again, the awesome blue giant speakers by Funktion 1 Systems was present this year on the Red Bull float.

The LOVE PARADE AFTER PARTY…
The set up was awesome, the sound kicked ass, the DJ’s… well, I wasn’t impressed. I wish Carl Cox would’ve played a later set. Ferry, umm he was like whatever to me. I only liked it when he banged the techno towards the end. And that song with that early 90’s techno sample kicked ass!!!! I MUST GET IT!!!! Like Michael said, there was too many ed up kids. I can honestly say, that I’ve been feeling bad that I didn’t go see PVD (my favorite trance DJ) or Carl Cox. But it’s all good cause I got to hang out with lots of my close friends at the Spundae party.

The DAY AFTER…
We walked around downtown trying to find a cool place to eat. Michelle recommended this dinner. EXCELLENT CHOICE! One of the best Strawberry Malts I ever had! Heck, I’m going to Watson’s in a bit just to get me another one! Sorry John we didn’t go to Amoeba, but you saw we had no time. :( We got to the airport about 1 hr before departure. While there, the Alaska Airlines lady asked me if we wanted to give up our seats because our flight was over booked. She told me that as a reward, we would get a pair of round trip first class tickets anywhere Alaska flies, and we would get sent home from San Francisco first class on a United Airlines flight. I told her HELL YEAH!!!! I’d DO IT… Then right before boarding, she said they didn’t need my seat anymore. ☹ Awww, that could’ve been my free flight to WMC!!!

The ODDITIES…
1. - Seeing two girls on top of the yellow LP fire truck flashing people the whole time. But wait, there’s more… Then some guy went down on one, while the other girl fingered the other one.

2. - Seeing this lady dance topless with a little kid.

3. - Asking the library security to let me take pictures from top of the Library. Security allowed me and escorted me to the top. That’s how I got those pictures from the top. While taking those crowd shots, I noticed a protest going on at one of the LP entrances. Hundreds of police arrived full on with riot gear, paddy wagons, horse, motorcycles, and more. BTW, that’s the nicest library I ever been to.

4. - The Spundae After Party running out of water!!!! WTF!!!! That sucked ass! I felt bad for those in need! But, there was water fountains.

5. - Too many kids at the AP. Some were coming on to me asking for water. I gave them water.

6. - A fight broke out some dude got his head hurt so bad, he was bleeding!!! Lucky for him, he got a free ride to the station house on the back of a police truck! IDIOT!

7. - The sound system going off at Blank & Jones several times.

8. - People thinking I was an undercover cop.

9. - Hanging out with security at the Mezzanine while drunk up my ass.

10. - Passing out at the Mezzanine’s couch.

Cuz I was probably the only sober guy at the After Party. I kept walking between the crowd alone. Just checking everything out and people kept looking at me weird.
