What goes on? Just wanted to give you a heads up that DJBOUTIQUE.COM is up and running. DJBOUTIQUE.COM is my friends new venture in the t-shirt/tanks/hoodies biz and the focus is club culture as a whole.

Just curious as to why this would be considered spamming? I mean, I have been a contributing TA for quite some time now and am here for the same reasons you are...love of the music and the people that you've come to know through it. Why shouldn't I be able to push somethiung I'm pouring my heart into? I mean...if I was trying to sell you cell phones or some other crap that had nothing to do with music than I would understand but...

Because...
You're advertising a commercial website, but most of all, because there is no reason for you to post it in this part of the forum. Belgians ain't dumb (though we dutchies like to say they are all the time :p), and neither are the ppl in the other local forums. People also read other parts of the forum. A post in some general forum would be sufficient. I am interested in club culture merchandise I will search TA and find your thread. Of even better, I will google for it.

Look...I apologize if I came off the wrong way in my last post but still can't understand the big deal with pushing a dj/music oriented clothing line on a messageboard I am a contributor to. Do you give the same response to the promoters/djs posting threads about their local gigs? What about the local/upcoming djs who post links to their latest mix? I highly doubt all the tracks included on those mixes have been cleared or is piracy okay now.
If you don't believe I'm for real try to get in touch with some NYTAs and i'm pretty sure you'll hear nothing but positive things.

If a promotor from the US pops up on NLTA advertising an event in the US, yes I'd most likely close it, as it is of no use to the Dutch community.
Yes, if a non-NLTA DJ posts a set on NLTA I close it and delete the link. There's an amateur DJ promotions forum for that. In fact, I banned DJ Echelon promotors twice the past month for doing that.
And besides that, music and parties are the main objectives of this forum, clothing isn't.
As for the piracy. Posting a set to promote yourself is ok as far as I know, according to the TA policy (which didn't make myself in the first place). All links to music files I also remove from NLTA.
Now it's not that I don't think you're for real, I believe your intentions are right, but it's still advertising the same thing in several subforums on one and the same forum. Don't you think one post is enough? In fact... crossposting isn't even allowed, advertising or not... |

I hear that but loosen up the jock strap a bit. Now I'm not mod but if I were and you posted in NYTA a similar kind of venture I wouldn't rag it or label it as SPAM.
Let's just put this to rest. If you ever plan a trip to NYC, ring me up. I'll show you the ropes around these parts.
