even on sundays downtown is a mess when gardiner is closed. Why cant this city grow up and do it the proper way? Sometimes they will shut down the entire dvp just to do a few repairs in ONE spot!

Its crazy :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

Ive only seen the province for example, shut down the entire highway for construction once ever. And that was for 3 hours at night while they levelled an old bridge. Other than that its all about lane closures late at night.

and theyd never dream of shutting down a provincial highway for a marathon. Thats just nuts!

What is the traffic like driving eastbound into the city on the Gardiner like?

you on drugs?

dude, lakeshore is packed to the and worse than the worst rush hour on dvp... i got stuck in there for an hour and a half trying to get from dvp exit on lakeshore to kipling.

if that's a fine alternative, you need some serious treatment, brethren.

just imagine what will happen if they do a stupid thing like tear it down.

tearing down the gardiner has got to be the stupidest idea ive ever heard.

Its funny how they shut down the entire thing, but when we drove past most of it at around 5am, the only trucks I saw were the ones blocking the entrances to the highway, but no fackin construction trucks on the actual highway anywhere fixing it from the parts I could see! If your going to shut it down, get a crazy ass task force out there with massive trucks going crazy to fix as many parts as you can! Then you wont have to shut it down as often!

balls.

I just looked at the Rescu cameras and it looks like a bloody mess.

So much for taking the GoTrain. I just missed the one-per-hour - which means the earliest I can now get downtown is 8:15.

I think the real problem here is a poorly designed public transit system, not a hiway closure.

the real problem is both, along with dimwitted idiots that dimwitted torontonians keep electing to office.
