Hey folks,
Here's a new track I've made... perhaps one of the hardest Cybernetika tunes out there ;) ... I call this style "end of the world Psy". You will see why when listening ;)
It's a dark nighttime raver with lots of atmosphere, harsh FX, dirty acidlines and a pounding industrial rythm @152BPM. Any of you who liked my tune "Chaosphere" wont be disappointed :D
Name: Dimorphic Blackcell
Length: 10:12
Bitrate: 192kbps

awesome start, awesome gating!
amazing fx!
1:44, baseline introduced, fx!!!!!
2:09, great, very nice
3:00, k, full introduction i suppose, i just love those watersplash effects, its nice how you pan gated em, they take most of your bandwith too, i'd say you did a nice job on balancing too.
5:06, sick synths, sounds like a real thing, very astral projection feeling to it, dark as usual..
dude, i will leesan to another half when i am done puting it on my minidisk, this track is great.
cant get any better than this, and you know it.
to be honest, this is the first really pro, hours spent on it track by you that i think is excellent and trully flawless and totally correspond to full on psy standards.

cool vocals.. awesome psy effects.. i dont really fall for stuff thats this fast, but it sounds great..i dont have anything consctructive to bring actually, sounds like a complete psy track to me.. although i prefer more linear and not so intense psy myself though..

6:12- good drive
6:36-brake down
gated female vocals and a brakebeat would be killer tho
6:59-7- drive again
7:25-good delay and gate work, you make it sound "real" :)
8:40, fx are great, no doubt about that
i love that tu-do on the left, and the one that follows on the right, it goes along with the melody, everything creates certain feeling and pardons itself with respect to all other aspects.
your pitch work, however, i can hear actual bpm chage, you need to find better ways to do those loops.
hmmmm, also i believe you loose lots of frequencies, i actually mastered this track just now, i was able to recover almost 85% percent of all possible frequencies, and it sounds great on monitors.
(you can get it off ftp://512project.homeftp.net)
sub-frequencies can also be improved with different eq settings in close range.
brakedowns, dont be afraid to go crazy with drums, especially at the last segment of the loop, either bass or kick when byitself, sounds good since if you would of played kick only, it would normally follow by the bass and since bass is abscent now, you can play alll other elements which if compressed properly, would sound well.
i have a few questions about you compressing, do you compress bass/kick as a whole or seperate, and how many compressors do you use in total and where, at what settings. |

Well thanks a lot mate for these insights, I'll see what I can do with it (and where I get female vox from :D)
I'll also have a listen to your mastered tune... I know some frequencies are a little heavy but it's still difficult for me to keep the track sound tight without these little overdrives. I'll try some more limiters maybe...
You have to be wrong about the pitch shifting though, I never made BPM change, just pitched up bass/lead notes in FLstudio, so it's quite impossible ;)
Well, about compressor settings...
I always compress kick and bass seperately, compressing them together wont work for me. I compress the kick with 'classic' comp settings, which means almost no threshold and low ratio, but a little gain. The VSTplugin Voxengo Crunchessor kinda helped me a lot here. The bass however needs to be compressed at rather 'peak surpressing' settings, that means max ratio, more threshold and quite an amount of gain. This is usually good for a bass with more sub frequencies. A more punchy bass with stronger peaks rather needs a compressor setting with less ratio and threshold. I usually do this by ear and cant provide a rule of thumb hence.
Then I also got compressors on leads and lead FX, with ratio 6:1, 12db threshold, and adjusted gain until it 'fits'.
In order to make them better audible, vocals need maximum compression, meaning high threshold, high gain as well as compressor ratio.
Some of the percussion needs compression too, with more gain and lower attack time to make the peaks stronger. |

| Your mastered version is very good. I like what you did to the mastering of the track. The harshest frequencies are out of the tune now. Thanks :) |

no prob m8
any time, i can almost guarantee any of your tunes will improve in sound somewhere from 5%-25% in cubase. |

Nice sample.
Ooh, gating at one is nice and trippy.
Sounds at 2:12 are a little harsh.
4:15 is fun.
Not bad stuff. |

Hi, really hard psy-trance... the beat grooves really well, maybe a little bit too much high freqs in some of the hihats but it could be my monitors also. Nice psy-effects all along the track!! The calmer part before 3 min is nice... the song could be better with a clearer structure... and it is perhaps too lengthy also. The speech sample works well, overall really dark atmosphere in the track and the beat at the end is really really cool. Nice work...
Best regards, Lakeus |
