Why so bloody difficult

I've finally purchased a tt....Good .

you know, it's easier for me to buy a car than it is to buy 2 tts and a mixer, Everytime I have the money it goes for something else, I just decided to say to hell with it and buy a tt and a mixer... not the best mixer on the market though, but oh well. Hopefully I will buy my second tt in dec.

Seems to me very few of you have trouble saving for decks. Why? How?
It's not like I don't have money, I have a very good job etc. THe money is just always needed for other crap. Cars break, PCs pack up, etc.

I just realised if I had a GF i would never even have been able to afford the one tt... them bitches are expensive.

why do you even want to dj if you cant be arsed to save up for the basic equipment?

I don't get it. What's the problem?

If you can afford decks and want to buy them, then do so.
If you cannot afford decks but want to buy them, save up for em.

I agree...

I think it's a ing rip-job as well...

i don't think a lot of the equipment is worth how much it costs.

If only it was like computer hardware...a geforce 3 ti500 from 2000 was 500 dollars, now ive seen some sell for 20 on ebay. 1980, technics sl-1200 mk2 is in the same price range as it is today :toothless

Although with inflation $700 US would have been worth ahell of alot more back then.

If you dont think its worth how much it costs dont buy it.

The equipment is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

I mean, thats basic economics.

^
and that's exactly why it's expensive.

the consumers simply don't have enough choice...

there needs to be more suppliers of quality DJ equipment, making the market more competitive, and bringing prices down.

DJ Gear isnt made to be consumer gear, its supposed to be for djs. More suppliers and equipment would be nice, but the market isnt really big enough to attract more supplers.

Look on the upside, with expensive equipment there are less wannabe djs :D

:haha:

Yeah that's true.

Anyone who's buying a product is a consumer.

U know Djing isn't about equipment. It's a skill. I have no gear, but i have the skill. WHen i play, i borrow TTs, and CDJS etc.

if only i should be so lucky, im 16 no job no source of income and yet im still saving just about all my money for a decent pair of decks. im currently practicing on one one and playing music through a line channel :nervous:

Yes i realise this but what i ment is that the high price of dj gear is a good deterant for people who want to dj because its cool. There are enough djs out there that have the gear without the talent to use it, cheaper prices for gear and every man and his dog will pickup decks and call themselves a dj ;)
