John Howard (Prime Minister)

Technology is always at least 2 years behind everyone else.

Digital TV broadcasts are so pixelated and compressed you may as well be watching a VCD.

Internet is rediculously expensive and slow.

Multi-level government/council systems who refuse to cooperate with each other and couldn't even organise a shag in a brothel.

Didjeridoos in tourist shops

Appalling TV programming - tacky american shows saturated with endless adverts.

Unmaintained main roads

National sports teams named after national fauna

...to name but a few ;)

if you carry 4kg of weed into bali and carry an australian passport they won't be so nice to you.

  • Movies often get released here two or three months later than USA/Europe
  • Internationals don't really visit here as often as other parts of the world because we are so far away. (although some come all the time!)
  • Very tough (and inhumane) immigration laws. Don't come as an illegal immigrant or asylum seeker because you might end up in a detention centre in the desert for the couple of years before being deported :wtf:
  • Big Brother
  • Australian Idol
  • Drought......we are currently in a VERY bad drought here in Sydney and we currently have water restrictions to conserve water. This means that you can't wash your car with a hose, you can only water the garden one or two days a week etc. On the other hand, this means that you will get nice weather with no rain :p

We also have more deadly animals than any other country in the world.

Snakes, Crocodiles, Dingoes, Drop Bears, Jellyfish, Spiders, Scorpions, Sharks.....there are hundreds of ways they can kill you! :stongue:

its really hard to get laid unless you can prove to a chick that you\'ve beaten a kangaroo to death with your bare hands.
