Hey don't get me wrong, I listen to it all. Good call on the sven impersonating, though. You're dead on. :P |

The first time I saw Richie sans glasses and with hair, was at Mutek 2 years ago at Metropolis, he was actually playing for 10 minutes before I clued in it was him.. mind you I didn't have my glasses but still.. hehe
then when he played Ottawa he was hanging around the club with someone else who looks like they had Sven's stylist (maybe it was!!) and he was totally incognito as no one but me and some people I was with seemed to recognize him at first. We talked for about 10 or 15 minutes, he was really nice.. said his gig in Toronto the night before was one of his favs all year. :) |

That's awesome. It's always great to see artists who havent bought into their own hype. I mean, not that hawtin is tiesto or anything, but regardless he has quite a name. |

hard to compare Richie to Tiesto.. Tiesto played at the Olympics yes, but Richie is a legend in his own right.. and revered by many as a genius of his craft. ;)
Tiesto is more a product of marketing IMO.
of all the globe trotting djs I have met though, the most chill was probably Thomas Krome :)
burned a j with him.. hehe |

Was that in January? He played a really good gig in January of 2004 at system...I played in the side room :)
(funny, if it was though...being in January it's pretty easy for it to be one of his faves all year) |

ahhh.. you have a point.. actually, he most likely said something to the effect of 'best gigs I have had in awhile or long time' or something, but the general idea was there. He was playing the next night with Mateo Murphy in Montreal too.
He played a GREAT set at surface that night.. definitely harder than i expected.. he hadn't played ottawa since the old Atomic days (RIP).
correction for what i mentioned earlier.. Donald Glaude is the *most* chill, but that is a different comparison altogether. |
