Strong Canadian dollar

The dollar has really gained strength recently. Why do i say recently? Because before the gains were largely thanks to the decline in the US dollar. But this summer dollar has actually risen substantially against other major currencies. This to me represents real strength. Just comparing our currency to one other currency doesnt tell the real story and i wish canadians would stop doing this.
Anyways examples of this include:
£1 sterling = $2.02
€1 = $1.39
$1 US = $1.15 (86¢ US)
time to travel if you ask me! |

| i haven't been up on the news lately on what the events are that have sustained the high dollar. i wonder if our dollar were to actually match the US, if retailers would actually charge equal with the states...its insane how much more expensive so many things are in canada compared to the states, even after the exchange rate. |

Yea the Canadian dollar has been strong lately, but remember the strength is predicated mostly the current high price of oil.
It was nice when I went on vacation to California though :) |
