Ableton 5 beatmatching problem

I have the warp function on but the two tracks I am trying to mix are not beatmatched. I turn the warp off and i use the transpose slider to manually adhust it. It gets better but it is not precise enough. I need more fine tuning.
Whats up with that. Doesn't the warp take care of the beatmatching? This thing is completely off. I have been working on it non stop for the last 6 hours, I am getting really pissed with this . |

I don't think transposing will help you here. In my opinion the semitone or fractions of a semitone are too imprecise. You're still better off using the warp markers.
It sounds like you're not manually setting the warp markers. Live does a pretty crappy job at setting markers when you first import tracks - especially if your tracks have long intros. You're better off setting them manually. Line up the first marker with the first strong beat in the track and go from there... |

you arent warping it precisely enough, make sure you zoom right in and insert more markers, i think you drag the window up/down to zoom |

You guys are right I did not adjust the markers assuming that the programm's guess at the tempo was correct. Aparently this thing can not guess most of the tempos right.
So how do you recommend to approach this limitation when you are planning to mix many tracks? Do you recommend adjusting the markers beforehand on each track and save it, and them drop all the tracks in the mix? |

i warp it then split the track up into seperate clips and save it (select the clips and drag it over there to the left) |

How can I configure Ableton so that I can cue tracks in my headphones and listen to the main track on my speakers. I've got the setup working fine in Tracktor but can't seem to do it in Ableton.
Assuming that I can configure it that way, how do you actually cue tracks for mixing in Ableton? |

There are cue options for each channel, on the bottom right there should be an option to show/hide the cue stuff (i think its a headphones icon). You just have to set the cue output in the options to whatever the output your headphones are plugged into.
Its all in the help file so have a look in there |
