Randy Katana - Play It Loud/Play It Louder [Jinx Records]

Apparently, this track has created some amount of controversy. The lead in Play It Loud is an extremely over-used melody and rather dated so to speak. Voodoo & Serano, Public Domain have already used it and I have heard countless bootlegs that have it as well. Then WHY is this track selling like hotcakes? Honestly, I don't know.
Fortunately, this record's saving grace is Play It Louder and it is exactly how I thought it would be. Randy's distinctive tribal-tech twist with crumbs of trance thrown in is prevalent throughout the record. He has stuck to his textbook style and it will work like magic on the floors.

Play It Loud - 6.5/10 (Lack of originality)Listen here
Play It Louder - 8.5/10 (Good ol' Katana style) Listen here

Out now.

I think the reason it works so well is because it literally comes out of nowhere

My friend mentioned that the other day

When Tiesto played it live the place went nuts cuz no one saw it coming

One of those tunes you actually have to experience live before judging I personally think

Play It Louder is massive... I heard tiesto play it live at TICLA and the place just went off... For me it's the beat, it just makes you dance.

its the biggest waste ever

when the theme comes on, theres nothing going on...and it stays that way. thers absoluteyl no drive to it at all, no perscusiion, nothing...just a beat and nothing else

BORING AS !!!!!

i try to praise at least one thing about a song (minus anything by smith and pledger) but this is utter crap....pure garbage

As Armin spinned it @ Nature One as the opening track the whole open air area went nutz wenn the melody came in.

But for me it's just a boring track because the melody is sooooo old and soooooo overplayed.

I think only the younger partypeople who've never heard the older versions live like this.

yeah, i would agree with what everyone is saying about the melody coming out of nowhere..i played this track before DJ Jean came on and got quite a reaction out of it. DJ Jean also played it and got the same kind of reaction. i think it'll wear out in a short while tho, the track is classic but overplayed..but i've always been a fan of katana.
Palladium
blade rave song (katana's ripoff remix)
ChoBo
I think the track is overrated

this is blood is pumping with a very boring bassline leading up to the big surprise. however, the majority of dancefloors are going to love this track as others have mentioned. that melody that has been so overused will likely always make people lose their minds.

Yeah but before it hits that overplayed crappy melody, the build up would be used in any Techno head's set and something like that in a Armin live set (which usually are harder than most people expect) is perfect.

First 3/4 minutes of the song 7/10
Last 3/4 minutes of the song 3/10
