I hate my landlord...

He's a completely moron and incredible douchebag...
For example:
We have "high speed" intarweb connected to our building via SBC DSL (:sadgreen: ) one of the worst internet service providers in the history of mankind, and add to that, we get it through some random third party that comes in and does all the wiring and maintenance on the building.
Now, over the course of the last year (I've lived here for 2), I'd say, the internet has only worked about 50% of the time, and with the amount that I use it for school (I have to take exams on the web and get lecture notes), work (production and sets), and fun (Whoring the CORe when I should be in class) this is just unacceptable. The shear amount of rent I pay here should entitle me to fully working intarweb, without question.
So over time I complain and bitch and moan and whine, basically explaing to him what's going on. And what's more than this is that a few of my friend who live in the same building have the same problems, this is in 3 other units in one building. So at first he tries to tell me "Oh, you're using Apple? That must be it, it's not my fault you have different computers..."

Same intarweb... shouldn't discriminate, this statement immediately told me he had NO IDEA wtf he was talking about... Then he tells me "Oh, we just had some issues in the basement, but they're fixed now." Internet works fine for a day, then goes back to 50% on/off, so all three of my friend who are tenants, and I, call again. His response: "Someone must be downloading too much and using up all the bandwidth. We'll just get a bandwidth monitor and ration it out to each apartment."
Ummmmmm... Ok... sure, whatever you wanna do man...
Finally, it goes out again for a day, and I just get fed up and call him up, get the answering machine, and leave a message basically paraphrasing the following:
"Jeff, the internet is broken again, it's happening way too much, and with school getting more and more involved, this just isn't acceptable. With the amount of money I pay in rent, I deserve a certain amount of consistency, so if we can't get this worked out, I'm going to have to call another company to come in and hook up internet to my apartment, and we'll have to work something out regarding the bill."
5 minutes later he leaves me a message:
"Hi Rob, Jeff from Anchor Apartments. I want you to know we've been working really hard to get the internet up and running, and MOST of the tenants have really been grateful. I just tried to get ahold of 3 people in the building, and I only got ahold of one, but her internet seems to be working great, so I don't know what to tell you. I was told by the ISP though that we have 3 machines in the building that have "internal problems" and so it's their fault and not ours that the internet isn't working, maybe those are your computers (I have 2, sometimes 3 hooked up at once), and if they are, it's not our problem."
Again... :wtf:
It's so clear this doesn't know what he's talking about and is just trying to get around addressing the problem it's disgusting... On every single ethernet or wireless connection I've EVER tried to get on with either of my Apple's (G4SE Desktop and iBook G4) I've had no problems. I've been addressing this problem for almost a year now with him, and he just dodges me, and turns it around on me so that I'm the one who's supposed to feel guilty for having the wrong .
I in' hate this (For FAR more reasons than this, but this rant was long enough already :p)...

| you should get net access tru cable. i think every service has its periods when its down but I've had decent experience with cable. |

Ups & downs here and there are for sure understandable... but I mean we'd go DAYS with not working and no answer... and it's still probably only up for like 12-15 hours a day total... Can't download ANYTHING from home because the connection breaks so frequently... |

| you can request the dsl company to send out a tech to check if there is excessive noise on ur phone line that would be causing the problem or they might be able to tell you they're having issues with their network. I just think it would be simpler getting cable net access. |

Agreed completely, I just don't want to pay for it :D
I already pay an absurd amount of rent for Stevens Point, WI that is supposed to included net access (One of the "perks" of living here :rolleyes: ), so I'm trying to figure out if he's in violation of our lease and I can just get cable, and send his ass the bill! |

Not to get in a pisstaking match with ya Bobby, but I know for a fact that I'm close to paying what a lot of kids in Madison/Milwaukee are paying. I've got a pretty nice 1 bedroom to myself, so even in small town Wisco I get raped...
