I think I might come out to this gig. I'm a huge fan of BT.. have every studio album he's ever recorded except Electric Sky Church Music (ESCM). And I couldn't possibly imagine such a nice guy who makes such emotionally-inclined music being a 'bad guy.' Whoever caught him at Spundae must've talked to him at a bad time. Only one way to find out though, if he talks to Bas, all your claims must be true and he has to be a douchebag ;) Long live BT :p

I got luck over at Amoeba one day and found this CD for $5. I can burn you a copy if you want one?

Thanks for your offer, sure. I'll preview it to it so I can buy it down the road. Do you have his Monster OST? It's really good and nothing close to electronica. Purely composed beautiful orchestral music. Warning though: it's highly emotionally and you may break down after you give it a listen. Yes, it's really that sad  BT knows more about classical orchestral-music than most of the EDM DJs and producers out there totaled. He went to Berklee College of Music at a mere 16-years-old, eventually met up with Deep Dish's Shahram and Ali 'Dubfire' -- they instantly hit it off and became recording partners as well as life friends. Here's another story: I read somewhere Brian (BT) washed dishes at a restaurant to scrape around for chump change as a student. Ah, the life of an artist, so glamorous. Along with the Deep Dish boys, he worked in the studio and toured with Paul van Dyk and Sasha too. So you see, BT has been in this field of music when we were sucking our thumbs and counting numbers. So show some respect! But, on the other hand, I don't think it's worth $15-20 to watch someome stare at their laptop for 4 hours :p If there's anyone I want to watch behind a computer, it's Zabs or Sasha tearing it up using Ableton Live 5. But hey, maybe I'll be impressed by this "Laptop Symphony" concept :tongue2

To my knowledge, BT was the first "dj" to use ableton live for performances. And BT influenced Sasha to embrace the technology. And Sasha influenced Kid Zabiela. Ya see?

we pay that much to see Gabriel & Dresden, Sasha, James Zabiela, Paul Van Dyk, Tania Mann, Richie Hawtin, and others staring at a laptop screen. BT is a genius and is one of the true pioneers in electronic dance music. My all time favorite producer for sure.

There's a huge difference, though. He's terrible with the technology! Haha.

G&D are eh with it, never seen Tania, I absolutely hate PvD, never seen Hawtin, so it leaves only two :clown: BT is a God in his own right behind the studio, no disputing that, but performance-wise, he's O.K. I could eat my words this coming Friday at Red.

yeah hes ok. i only went to his shows cuz he is a GOD. all those beautiful tracks that he created. My favorite at the moment is "the great escape." Listen to that one loud and just lay back and close your eyes.

Overall, im not diggin the whole laptop thing. I prefer a combination of the different media. CDs + Vinyl + Other.
