Hi there everyone,
been yet another long time since i posted on TA.com, i recently started making a new song and decided to try my hand at some hard trance.
here's the sample, its on yousendit.com
http://s8.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...0Z2XTW3BZR9UN82
Name: AniG - Lose Yourself
Genre: Hard Trance
Track Time: 2:49 min/sec
BPM: 150
Status: INCOMPLETE
if there's anyone out there who can c&c on the short sample id appreciate. im still trying to get the main melody out of my head, i thought this song up when my mp3 player died on my while i was waiting for the bus. this is just a sample of the intro melody which i need to introduce more in the song.
so there's still things im looking to do with it.
id just like to hear comments on what people think about it while im making the final product. might take me awhile tho cause im full on atm with uni.
hope to get more than 1 reply heh, whoever can lend an ear, ill be greatful. |

I'll try my best with commenting ;)
Fat bass. Not bad.
Good percussion.
I think the distorted kick is a little distracting and taking away the drive of the tune. Just my personal taste maybe, but I'd turn it down.
The "melody" is kinda nice, but I think the synth is droning a little. You might consider using a chorus FX instead of that detuning.
Mastering is class A as usual.
I think this has the potential to rock the dancefloor, but it needs some minor improvements in my humble opinion ;) ... anyway, nice! keep it up! :) |

A very rough piece of track, rather hardstyle than trance... :whip: Not my favourite style but nevertheless, a good work.
The distorted kick reminds me of "Derb", perhaps you know?
I dont like the swinging, monotone string - it makes the sample being boring. The choose of percussions fit in hardstyle music - very "pumping", especially the off-bass, a very deep one.
All in all, not bad but, although I don't know much about this genre, it needs work. I'd improve the string in the backgound and introduce a simple (maybe short) melody, in order to make it more eyecatching.
So, keep up your work

Wow... the track is really hard, donīt know if it is hard trance or something else. The production seems allright, I donīt know exactly how these kind of tracks should sound. The beginning is really powerful, captures the listenerīs attention which is always a good thing!! The bassdrum could be louder imo... to drive the track even better. The synths work well... after 1:17 when the beat kicks in I canīt really hear the bass drum, I donīt know if you did it on purpose.... Also the bass should have more mid-fequencies, now I canīt hear it really well. The groove is really good, try finding the main melody!!
Best regards, Lakeus
p.s Take a look at my track and drop a few comments if youīve got the time:

that distorted kick is nice. this is a tune that would scare the crap out of me during a set of mark eg or someone like that! its dark to say the least.
id add a bit of top end to the kick but wouldnt change much else.
good work. |

Hi there
As someone said before, hardstyle isn't my favourite style but is well produced :)
I also agree with Lakeus, the bassdrum could be louder.
Sorry, but i cant add more comments right now, and my english is so limited :p
I want to hear the finished track :)
Keep it up AniG :D |

| honestly i like it... its got a very underground feel to it... i'd turn down the over amplified kick sound though... kind of annoying.... loving the acidy kind of feel... |
