While we're on topic - I just realized that this will be the first time I'm at Crobar at a Saturday. Outta curiosity, do they change the dresscode between Friday nights and Saturday? Never had a problem before. They've always seemed pretty lenient... |
Granted it's been awhile, when I first started going to Crobar (June of last summer), I went for Deep Dish on a Saturday and wore cargo pants, t-shirt, and jeans and didn't have a problem.
Two weeks later, on my first real date with my current girlfriend, we stopped at my place to change out of the clothes that we wore to dinner. I put on a T-shirt, khakis, and sneakers. When we got to Crobar for Roger Sanchez, they turned me away because I wasn't wearing a button down shirt. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed and argued with the guy that I'd never worn a button down shirt there and had been in multiple times. Also, there were people standing near the guestlist line who they'd already let in that didn't have button down shirts and one guy was even wearing camo cargo shorts. We ended up going back across Manhattan to my place to change again, then went back.
I'll probably wear a button down shirt just to be on the safe side for this and dress down for Holden the night before. |

| ^^^^ Agreed....where the button down and then whatever T-shirt you really want to wear for the night under it so you can take it off inside. Sometimes it all depends on who is at the door and of course the more girls you go with the better chances you have of gettin in. |

I did that at Glow in DC for Armin. I just hope my shirt comes clean because I took it off and it fell on the floor a few times. |

my friend had the SAME problem. I myself wasn't even wearing a button down shirt. What I had on was Lacoste casual sneaks, a Bob Marley vintage tee, and a military style cap on and I got the consent. A friend of mine had on a vintage tee, Diesel kicks and he was let in as well. NOW, for the aforementioned friend, he came with a black tee.. black kicks and faded white jeans.. -but was not allowed in.. "because he didn't have a button down shirt". Might I add he also had three (3) ladies with him.. and obviously me or my buddy didn't have a button down shirt... (this was the PvD event by the ways) - how fricking retarted is that...
Crobar's staff seems to me a bit picky on who they let in.. that if you're not dressed "good" enough, or "urban" enough.. - "get the f#ck out of here/out of this place." Why do we HAVE to look good enough? part of going to the club is to enjoy the great EDM our fave DJs come to NYC to offer.. how often does Carl Cox come to NYC.. and with the above scandal going on.. how many true Carl Cox fans will miss this event?? :whip: kinda gets me mad.. whatever happened to P.L.U.R ?? :toothless
by the ways, I got It's All Gone Pete Tong.. surprised at how the mockumentary film.. was filmed. With PvD, Tijs and Carl Cox both sounding SO REALISTIC.. haha.. quite a dramatic movie though.. great comeback too..
Happy Birthday Fellow TA October`ians :toothless |
