atleast i ain't the only one who is nerding out! (geeks are hot! LOLS)
this is my other computer/server/media center sitting nicely under my new Sony Bravia 40" XBRONE LCD and next to my Sony STR-998 7.1 surround sound entertainment center.
File Server
Coolermaster
ASUS A7V8 Socket A
AMD Athalon 2000+ Thoroughbred 266mhz FSB
1gb OCZ Low Latency (512x2) PC3200 RAM
250gb Western Digital IDE HDs (Main File Server)
Samsung DVD+RW/CD+RW
Generic OnBoard Audio Out
CoolMax 400w PSU
I like my AMD more than my p4.
I got ripped by my ABIT AI7 because there is a flaw in the PWM temp, it overheats rather quickly tripping the uguru alarm. Essentially when the PWM temp raises past 80c, the alarm goes off and the computer shuts down at 88c. I need to rig heatsinks on those cathodes and capacitors inorder to keep the circuitry temp low. It's pretty gay and I'm not willing to swap out to an ASUS (which is what I preferred over the Abit mobo)
I also find it funny how my fileserver old mobo (Voodoo3) has DVI out and my AIW 9600 doesn't. Each like 4yrs apart from each other. |
