Have fun mate! Hope you enjoy it!
Can't think of any places at the moment. You might wanna try a fruit-picking job - a lot of backpackers do that, but I guess you'd have to live in the country somewhere. |

also.. lotsa backpackers here work as bartenders in backpacking lodges and stuff... i guess it makes it easier for non-english speakin tourists to order drinks and stuff ?!?
alotta the irish pubs round here especially hire irish backpackers for a more genuine feel...
but i guess u aint irish huh :p
but if you're after "well paid jobs" and fruit picking and bartending doesnt quite cut it... u could always try exotic dancing, looks permitting ;) |

As gumble says, and don't forget to try the pie floater while in Adelaide. As for clubs... well Heaven in Adelaide has a trance night on thursdays, not bad, but really is only more than noteworthy when they have internationals in.
If you like the outdoors thing (like hiking or rockclimbing) make sure you visit Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges... from the top of one of the surrounding peaks absolutely amazing.
By the way, i saw you plan to visit all the biggies... don't underestimate Australia. Its a bloody big place and many people from europe don't realise that Sydney, the GB Reef and Ayers Rock are not within a couple of hours of each other.
This is not a joke, nor am i taking the piss out of you, I have personally talked to many tourists from europe who get themselves into problems due to this.
Have a good time in Oz though, best place in the world. |
