How do I get the best seats from ticketmaster?

So my favorite group of all time, Depeche Mode is coming in concert and I was debating on how I was going to purchase tickets - on-line, telephone or going to a ticketmaster outlet. Anyone have any advice as to what will get me the best seats? I've been hearing that on-line hasn't been working quite well due to delayed on-sale times - they've usually started 10 minutes later than what was scheduled. I'd appreciate any suggestions...

Get an American Express card.
They sometimes give you first dib on tickets if you have one. Not quite sure of the details though. |

I have heard that there is a pre-sale opportunity given to people that buy their album off of itunes. Basically depeche mode came up with an idea to send out an email with a unique password to whoever bought their album to give em the chance to purchase tickets before anyone else.
This is a bit different than the typical pre-sales with just a generic password.
Personally i HATE ticketmaster because I can never get good seats early. I honestly have just paid the markup on ebay if it's a show I really want to go see. |

I looked into the pre-sale, but unfortunately it's not available in Canada. It's odd that everywhere else in the world that they are touring is offering the itunes pre-sale but not here.
Thanks for the info though! |

I don't believe that online time is delayed.
Every single time I've gone online for tickets I've scored floor seats and most of which sold out in a matter of seconds or minutes ie. Blink 182 at Molson Ampitheater, System of a Down @ ACC, etc. |

House of Blues has worked the best for me. It is free to be a member and they usually have pre-sales for most shows in Toronto.
I have had great luck with their site... 100's for Foo Fighters at the Molson Amphitheatre, Floors for Beastie's last year and Floors for Audioslave tomorrow night.. too excited. |

| It's not all that hard to get floors each and every time. Just wake up about 10 minutes before they go on sale, go to ticketmaster.com and sign in, go to the event page, refresh every 10 seconds or so and then just be quick. |

Thanks! I know this seems pretty simple, but I've never purchased tickets on line before. I was debating if I would get better seats by standing in line, but then again, I'd be waiting for someone else to process...I think I'll stick with the on-line thing. Wish me luck. |

I never use the internet (it was a bit of a disaster getting U2 tickets). Call them before they go on sale, and put yourself in their phone system about 10-12 mins before sale time. Order the tickets at about 2 mins to sale time.
I've got 9th row centre for Inxs, 3rd row centre for Duran Duran, 18th row centre for Metallica with Faith No More & Guns 'n' Roses and 6th row centre for Cher and many more great seats for great shows. This method has never failed me. I once won Chum FM tickets for Prince and the seats sucked.
Good luck! |

I waited in line twice for tickets, both times they did a random draw.
I just restart my modem and my router, then my computer so everything is booted up cleanly and nicely and then I just keep the page open and refresh (making sure I'm logged into the site already and whatnot). It works every time for me. |
