Halloween

It seems like Halloween is losing its appeal now days. I can remember growing up and getting excited about going trick-or-treating. I'm too old to do that now, of course, but it interesting that I hardly ever see kids trick-or-treating. Not that I want them banging at my door, but it's just an observation. I used to hear about a lot of Halloween parties too, but there don't seem to be to be a lot of those anymore either.
Does anyone here dress up for fun or parties? |

I dress up not just for fun and parties but, for everyday. Usually some nice slacks and a button-down shirt. Sometimes I'll shine my shoes.
But really, I remember when i was a kid, you went trick-or-treatinf on Halloween night and you waited until after dark to go. Now it seems that there are scheduled hours for trick or treating during daylight hours and on a Sunday or some bullcrap. Lamesauce.
If i had parties to go to, I'd dress up with the quickness. I always enjoyed that. It's tough though because I just moved here and don't know of any parties and I'm a nerd. :(

yes. it's huge down here...the adults get more dressed up than the kids.
one of these years when i actually own a place i will throw a sick ass costume party/birthday party for myself...you won't be able to get in unless you are dressed up to the max and there will be a big bowl of colored pills ("candies", if you will) for everyone to eat as they enter...there will be a champagne fountain pouring dom and butlers walking around holding silver platters with lines of blow and a little holder of cut up straws.:stongue: |

i think i know what he means. when i was a kid my brothers and I would go around the neighborhood tricker treating. but now i days i never see any kids doing it.
someone told me parents dont want to take chances with their kids going door to door tricker treating. so they bring them to halloween parties instead. I think it kinda takes the fun out but oh well. |

slylee -- the adults are that into it? Where are you? Sounds like they know how to let loose and have some fun.

| It's just not the same these days. Why, a young whippersnapper is more likely to throw eggs at your house than accept the orange/black boiled eggs you made special for trick-or-treaters. Ungrateful I tell's ya. And when the little misers do knock, they take the trick too far, by god. One young man, dressed up as Yogi the Bear, came a-knockin', and what did he do? He swiped my picnic basket. By "swiped" I mean kicked and by "picnic basket" I mean testicles. Then he took all my money and egged my house for good measure. The police didn't believe my story either, on account a what happened last Halloween. I went around town swiping all the trick-or-treater's picnic baskets, and swiping their parents' picnic baskets with a cane. Spent two months in jail, I did. It's just not the same these days. |
