If you're paying for a designer/studio to build you a website, the least you can do is let them do their job! I'm not saying give them 100% of authorized freedom, but at the same time, don't implement your ideas above theirs.
I don't know if it was even necessary for me to mention this, but I saw that you said "according to my preferances" or some sort. It's a cooperation game is what I'm saying, but always realize that the designer would be doing this for life and he/she would know better. It's hard to go with it but, just as an advice.
