I've listened to some Psy Trance and I don't see the spirituality behind it. Maybe for putting you into a trance state or religious imagery like from Hindu or Native peoples, but when I think spiritual-sounding, I think uplifting, melodic trance stuff with beautiful breakdowns with synths, pianos, guitars etc or the deeper, more chilled, Balaeric sound like Chicane or Tastexperience. But rock in the late 60s had spirituality connected to it (Hippies), so I don't see anything wrong with it. If it makes them closer to God, then fine, thats the way they see it. But I don't know how anyone can deny that trance music has spirituality behind it.

The psychedelic trance scene has essentially evolved from the psychedelic drug scene. A lot of people who take large amounts of psychedelics will talk about spritual or enlightening journies.

I suppose they could be very much into psychedelic drug culture, or more likely they could just be a couple of thirteen year olds who think hearing a couple of drug samples in a track has somehow expanded their minds.

Probably the latter.

I don't think that uplifting trance is spiritual at all...surely its designed for clubs to get people moving...not really spiritual - unless you mean spiritual as in the amount of vodka etc consumed at these events :D
