Ferry Corsten @ Crobar 10/7 Review

Good set. Ferry came on at 1:30am and started off nice. But when I heard him play "Rock Your Body Rock" at around 4:45am, I headed for the door!

He played until 5:30, then Serge promptly came back on. We weren't really feeling it so took off. Decent TA turnout tonight, but overall, it really wasn't crowded. We got there at 11:45 and were let right in. Caught a bit of Catherine Jade and Eric Andrews (definitely had me moving missjade). I actually kind of felt bad for him at like 4 when the bar closed up and suddenly it really opened up on the floor. I haven't been to Crobar when it was so empty lately. Maybe for James Lavelle and Junkie XL back in May.

Tracks that I can remember right now, and I know that there are others that i recognized but there were too many to recall all at once. He played more Passport than Creamfields tracks, but quite a bit at the beginning that I didn't know, which was kind of surprising to me. No Punk tonight, but lots of his own productions. At one point, I think he played 3 straight of his own tracks.

Serge Devant:
Depeche Mode - (can't think of what track, 2nd one played)
Suicide Sports Club - Last Ghost in Town (Redanka mix)

Ferry:
BT feat. JC Chasez - Force of Gravity
Dogzilla - Without You
Ferry Corsten vs. The Thrillseekers - Sublime (The Thrillseekers Remix)
FB feat. Edun - Who's Knockin?
Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body Rock
Fischerspooner - Never Win
Ferry Corsten - I Love You
Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream (PvD Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Cubikated
Ferry Corsten - It's Time (Ferry Corsten Flashover Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Galaxia
System F - Underwater
Sting & Police - Message In A Bottle [Bootleg]
U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name (Nu-NRG Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Fire

There are some more that I can't remember right now.

Good seeing Alyssa and Drew, Big Mike, partyhopper (happy b-day), avikonen (saw you having a smoke at the beginning, but never ran into you again), colibri, Megu. Lunasea, I saw you across the floor at Catherine Jade, but never saw you again either. Did you run across the street?

Did anyone else think it was kind of a brightly lit crack den there tonight? I guess maybe I was just too sober.

Yeah, "brightly lit crackden" pretty much covers it. That kinda screwed up a bunch of my photos. The lights last week were a bit more pleasing.

Well, being a noob, this was my first time seeing Ferry and I enjoyed myself. I got there at about 12:45 and left when my feet gave out @ 5:20. The set was a little different than what I'd usually find myself listening to, but it had me dancing all the way home  . It was kinda weird seeing the place not all that packed. I wish they had opened up the second level to everyone. I definately had a good time nonetheless. Pics up later. :o

I couldnt make it due to work today @ 9 am and also it was raining!!! i hate rain :(. glad that some of you had fun, atleast the place was not crowded and you can dance, sometimes when its too crowded it just feels ICKIE.......

DAMN now I wish I went... he played all my favorite tracks, I bet he's not gonna play them all the next time as to not play the same set... grrrr
colibri
first half of corsten'set was nice had it all gracenergy
balance atimes it made me feel really connected the
second half lost power even the steam effect was't
coordinated or leveraged properly with a memorable
or surreal trak that fog can be used tocreate visual
surrelness by then for every 5 tracks only one was
good and set show signs of gradual deterioration
looking forward to see him again hopefully nextime
he'll be consistento the very end great seeing y guys

;)

oh so THAT'S where you went...its like u breezed in and then you were GONE! VERY CUTE haircut btw :D we ran into those two eventually LATER -- although we seemed to LOSE Dan the second we stepped into the main room...and never even saw Francis *period* lol.

yeah those tvs suck, i couldn't see ferry from where I was standing and we were in the front! :whip: Drew and I were there until 4:30am -- first time leaving Ferry *early* but i was trying to dance in 3 inch platforms DEAD SOBER (despite my better judgment, i should have KNOWN better!! no i meant the HEELS!!) By 2am my legs and feet were hurting like hell. I kept trying...cuz FERRY was soo good...but eventually it gave out and I stood there watching Drew stomp and I was soo sad I couldn't participate. Add to that we had to walk to Penn Station to catch the E in the rain back to Queens -- and my legs were so done Drew had to piggyback me down the subways stairs, i just couldn't do it anymore...bleh

damns there were DEFINITLEY some CHARACTERS at Crobar last night -- to put it mildly LOL -- :D at the partay last night, saw some ppl get reprimanded by STAFF more than once, def yeah lotsa crackies there too :D and the guy with the goggles n hulkmania shirt was there too! ahha.

hope u had an awesome time Dan, happy Birthday!! :D

Yeah, we were right up front, slightly to the right for most of the night. The TVs were kind of stupid, but had potential to be cool. I mean, 3 of them were playing static the whole night, the others seemed like the wires were getting rattled apart, and there were fuzzy lines that kept popping up vertically across them. It also provided this big barrier between the DJ and the crowd.

I must have seen 6 different people get hauled out by security last night. At one point, they took a line of 3 people with the bouncers holding their hands behind their head.
