Blue.
I'll still be listening to EDM, hell I have my 50 year old mother listening to almost nothing but house now and she wants to come to David Guetta next week with me :stongue:

PS: I tend to defend those older people at the club when I hear people making snide remarks. They're there to have a good time and whether you're 23 or 43 it shouldn't matter. It's been those 35 or 40 year olds who have given me a high five in the club with smiles on their faces at peak time and whatnot. It really wouldn't bother me.

In fact, most youngins always say they wanna 'be like me' when they grow up. I think the problem you're referring to is the obviously older people (closer to the 50+ yr mark, who are often also off their heads on drugs, or obviously nerdy/ or out of place older types). I'm lucky that I look far younger than my age. There are some others on here that are around the 40+ yr old mark, but they all have a youthful appearance, dress & attitude.

On the flipside, I dont even have an "I've been clubbing since you were in kindergarden" elitist attitude either, which is true, given the age difference I have w/many of my clubbing peers. Now, if some nouveau punk rocker gave me some attitude, I'd have to throw that line at them. Nothing made me chuckle more than standing in line at Canada's Wonderland next to some 18 yr old nouveau-punks wearing their pre-fab punk outfits, knowing they weren't even BORN when I was out in the mosh pit (and I was 2nd-generation punk in the 80's, and here we are 20 yrs later....).

+1 ...one from this 33 year old female! Don't hit up the clubs as frequently as I did in my early 20s when I was a trance girl but I wouldn't say it is because I am not a trance fan...although it isn't really a genre I listen to much these days. I'd say it is partly because my old friends are not EDM fans and I am therefore off doing other things with them (I didn't see them much during my crazy clubbing days) and partly because I enjoy more than the high energy, crazy bpm sets so I am spending alot more time listening to a wide variety of EDM and have been seeking out smaller venues where there isn't the pressue to have a rammed dancefloor. These days it is all about the balance and variety. Some nights I am looking for a dirty high energy house set other nights a chillout evening with some deep and funkier stuff. I am liking the variety this city is offering these days in EDM and am taking advantage of that I guess. The nights when I am looking for the harder, darker beats though I rarely feel out of place on the crowded dancefloor because of my age. However, like Diginut stated above...if I were a sketched out mess at the club I'd expect to have a few fingers pointed at me... but I would expect that regardless of a persons age. I think people just notice it more when it is coming from someone who is old enough to know better. I will say the knees and hips ache a bit more after a full night of dancing but I am not going to let that keep me down.

Being in your 30s and still hitting the clubs is great. I am still enjoying it and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. The difference is....you become more selective of which parties you go to.

Completely agree here. I will be 35 next month and to be honest, i'm having more fun now then when i was in my 20's. I dont look my age or act it half the time lol. For the most part i'm usually one of the last to ever leave a club (the whole "i might miss something" attitude). I know my limits better now (most nights) and have a better appreciation for the music. Most of my friends range in age from early 20's to mid 30's. Age is just a number.

And on that note see you all tomorrow night for 9YR!!:D

Orko
remember, every generation says "Dont trust anybody over 30"

Its natural. We will get old, have different priorities, but the main thing, is that our bodies just wont be able to pull the same kinds of crazy hours and abuse.

I am really hoping that i can still go out and have fun like i do now, when i am old. If enough of us old timers(when we reach that stage) go out, and party, who the cares!

I like partying with old peopl, i tell ya.

Go cougers! :toothless
TranceGrooves
i am going to write to guvernment to build a handicap access ramp to the stage so us old timers can easily get up there and get jiggy with it. oh and also instead of the nitro tank ... how about a Oxygen tank.

but yes all you ppl are writting very positive and supportive points so i am like starting to feel much better about this w0000t :D.
