So far 19 000 dead, not looking good at all :(

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4323008.stm

Interesting to see tho how this relief effort one day after this unexpected earthquake seems to be coordinated and going pretty good considering these countries limited resources... But I guess only developing countries could manage to do that..
NeoPhono
Katrina death toll (worst natrual disaster in US history) = 1,033
Asian earthquake death toll = nearly 20,000

I guess only in a developing country could an earthquake kill so many.
NeoPhono
Strike that 20,000 figure, let's make it 30,000+

Let's not.

I saw that India had offered Pakistan some help on this, but that pakistan was reluctant to accept it. Just like Cuba and the US - strange how even third-world conuntries can afford to turn down offers of help for political reasons.:conf:

it's sad. The only problem after all of this, I don't mind giving out aid to any country who need it, but whenever we have bad disasters, some of the people affected (Mainly from heavy flooding in winter) get no help whatsoever.
