Warning: I am more than likely about to disappoint/aggravate some people with the following comment.
Yeah i'm an Aphex/AFX fan and yeah he is a genius but come on, a few of those "Analord" tracks are not talent driven/melodic at all. The tracks I am talking about have a horrible sound and although this was obviously on purpose, its just not right!
The people getting irate right about now are probably wanting the names of these tracks:
1. Midievil Rave 1
2. Canticle Drawl
3. Where's Your Girlfriend
I can quite easily sit through ventolin but find it hard to listen to those three tracks.
P.S
I Still have as much respect for Aphex as before. |

Well, I've only heard Canticle Drawl of those three, but I must say I actually like that one.
Since when did it have to be talent melodic driven? I mean, many of Aphex Twin's classics are harsh acid tracks without a characterizing melody in them. Take his QQT Mix of "We Have Arrived" for example. That song has no melodic pattern that runs through the track. It's really just noises if you think about it. But I like it, the noises and the way it's put together. It's as fun to listen to as the most melodic Aphex tracks in my opinion.
In fact, some of my favorite songs by Richard D James, regardless of aliases, are the ones with rasping and screeching sounds that are literally damaging to your hearing.
I'm neither disappointed or aggrevated by your statement. And I haven't lost any of my respect for this genius man myself.
Many people I know wouldn't consider Aphex' music as music at all, especially not these type of tracks. I think I understand very well what you mean. All I'm saying is that I actually like those demented tunes that I think most people would spit right out and throw in the trash.
I say "Come on you c*** let's have some Aphex acid!" |

| Drukqs is his best album. Haven't heard the Analord stuff, but Aphex has a lot of random crap I don't like at all. |

That album is SICK. Gotta love it. It's worth waiting for. An excellent mix of drill & bass madness and beautiful pieces of both prepared and unprepared piano. I play those tracks like Avril 14th on the piano myself.
Favorite track: Mt Saint Michel Mix+St Michaels Mount. |

I once downloaded all the analord-series...
Boy, what a freaking waste of money would it have been if i'd picked up the first 3 releases that came out after a certain period of time.
Totally not AFX, imo:( Now they got all the series in that particular local store, and no Druqks, Analogue Bubblebath, RDJ album whatsoever:confused:
Deleted almost half of it:o |

My favourite album will always be "I Care Because You Do"
Tracks like "Acrid Avid Jam Shred" "Alberto Balsalm" and "Cow Cud Is A Twin" are awesome. |
