Tyler C - A Moment's Notice (updated preview)

This is a track I've been plugging away at on and off for the last month or so. It has undergone a huge transformation from it's first version. There was originally a big epic string break and a really ed up breakbeat, but that's all gone and now it's a bit techy.
Any and all comments are appreciated.
EDIT: Ok, new preview. I beefed up the kick and tweaked the sub bass just a bit. I also completely redid the breakdown and added a new melody. It's a bit more melodic than the previous clip, which I have now taken offline. Thanks for all the input guys.

| I like the break down quite a bit. The rest of it sounds very standard to me. Its definitely coming along though. Keep us posted. |

Kick would benifit from a bass boost...
Composition is good but not great.
Sort of a generic track... has no defining characteristics since there is no good melody and/or production highlight. |

Hi Tyler.
Hm I'm used to better work from you. The hats are drowning a bit, and a lot of same sort of sounds used, makes it blurry. Melody I'm not fond of, not saying anything or hooking me up. I like the arp thingy in it, but could be more upfront.
Next.. |

Hey Tyler
Cool track indeed - I love that main synth - and I don't think the track is that 'unmemorable' - the main melody is great - overall sound quality is great too. Nice dark, atmospheric track, no real criticisms from me. |

Nice to see some Tyler C stuff coming around again.
Very housy feel in the intro. I like this.
I'm liking your arping lead.
Call me a sucker, but I'm digging that sine-like synth more than this supersaw. Mix those around a bit. Get that sine wave a bit higher.
I think your high percs are a bit hard to hear.
Bring that acid around 5:25 out a bit more. Acid's no fun if you can't hear it. It doesn't need to be on top, but I don't like that your bass is drowning it out.
To be honest, this track didn't hit me like some of your other tracks. A lot of the sounds seemed mismatched, and I felt like it peaked way too early. |

Goodstuff.
Bassdrum's okay, but maybe increase the levels between 25hz->75hz. The bass synth's backbone seems to be on a 100hz to roughly about 500hz, shift that to the lower freqs just a bit. The lead doesnt really feel complete, but it's evident that you've been producing for a while and definately heading towards the right direction.
Keep it up |

Thanks for the comments guys. I'd agree that it's probably not my best melody or anything, but I'm trying to work on compositions that will really get a crowd moving, hence everything happening kinda quickly.
I'm experimenting with some more melodic stuff in the break right now, I'll post something up later. |

grundyness, i like... this track is real dirty... and the bass is deeper than your mom. i like it.
sinewave melody at 2:29 is sick. but as said by the others, would have been better if you brought the break in a little later... and build up more anticipation... if you're going for a dance-oriented track, you need big build before the breakdown, lots of energy.
track sounds nice and full when everything comes in... like other said before me, it's unfortunate you don't have a real focus on melody here. an instrment to maek this stand out more would be nice, piano melody or something.
sounds and production are mint... melody = could be better. good filler track, imo. |
