HOLY FACK!
haha I went expecting a quasi-interesting evening, and what I got was the sleeper hit of the year.
Lush, deep, sexy ... HOUSE music.
I kept shaking my head is disbelief at how great the vibe was. The venue was 10/10, the crowd was amazing (not to mention beautiful), and most importantly the music was perfect. I was NOT in the mood for banging techno, and I'm glad I ended up sticking it out with the adults. (re: room to dance/ enjoy life) hah
It was nice to see Jeff, Aaron and Heidi. I found it fitting that we represented TA quite nicely. :) Long live house...
DUN DUN DUN David Guetta in 2 weeks!

Lush, deep and sexy it WAS. What a fantastic night of house. Thanks to Carey and the WeDance crew for providing us with what this city has been missing...a mature, comfortable, stress free, sexy environment for us to enjoy the deep. Looking forward to seeing what WeGETFUNKY and WeGODEEP have in store for us in the future.
Great seeing jon jon and Jeff representing the TA House Crew.
See you at Goo-etta on the 23rd, jon jon! |

Thanks to the TA's for supporting! This was definitely a bit different than the typical type of event that the TA's (I know I am stereo typing) would attend which is why I was so pleasantly surprised to see so many familiar faces. :-)
It was definitely a more mature crowd and the music was exactly what "We" promised...a blend of Deep and Funky. Jeremy Jive did a great job at opening it up and setting the tone. People walked in and went straight to the dance floor to get their groove on. I loved the Kaskade remix of Morales "Here I am" what a dope record...and by the looks of it everyone was enjoying it early in the night.
Julius was brilliant as well. He started off really deep, groovy, and sexy and built his set up to a point where he was chunky, funky, and even a bit dirty! ;-) His last record was my favourite and it turns out that it is something that he is working himself called "Chicago Tribute." Watch out for this one.
Unfortunately, I didn't get much of a chance to hear Joey as I had to take Julius back to the hotel shortly after Joey started his set...but I hear that he really got the dance floor pumpin.
When I got back around 3 AM Mischief and Frankie were rocking it...these cats have some mad records in there bags. Nice and techy with a funky edge...I am willing to bet many of you would eat it up. I left around 4 am and there were still 150 heads bouncin up and down on the dance floor!
All in all a really good night another step in the right direction.
Thanks again to those of you in attendance...the support is appreciated. To the rest of you...I am sure I will be seeing you very shortly. Lots of great things coming up and you can count on more.
- Carey
P.S. I did take some pictures...not many as I was so busy...but I will get them up as soon as I can. |

It ended up being a great Thanksgiving weekend - and this party made it even better! Didnt really know what to expect from the headliners, but i was quite impressed overall. I got there just after Jeremy finished, and Papp started to get the ball rolling. He was a little too deep/loungy for my liking at the beginning of his set, but it was a nice back drop for chatting with peeps i hadn't seen in some time. Julius picked things up towards the end, and although mixing was a little shotty at times, it was rockin - and quite chuggy (me likes!). His last track was just aweseome.... really got me moving. Joey took over, and really got control of the room i felt. Up until this point, the energy in the room was so-so, but his music had the crowd busting it out from front to back. Loved the bangin, dark, jazzy feel to his music. I danced like a madman for a couple of hours, and i looked up and see my boys Mischief n Frankie rockin it. Easily the best set i've heard from these guys.... they really took their game up a notch for this event - and had a nice crowd towards the end because of it.
Great to see Aaron, Heidi, Jon, Tara, and of course Carey. Great party buddy - im glad to see it was such a success :) |
