hey
this is the remix of "Voyage" that ended at 8th place, what I'm kind of satiesfied with. The first version i did was plain progressive, but, 6 days before end date, I changed the whole remix into something i haven't produced before. I wanted a "commodore 64" sound, also named "SID" as main melody. and I wanted beats that fitted the to the melody. The track is made with FL studio 4.0.
The melody is made by a free vsti (ymVSTi) made for commodore 64 fans and producers.
But I must admit that i did one hell of a mistake.. I produced the track with headphones only. did not take a soundcheck on good speakers..
anyway, enjoy the ride :toothless

I think you had an interesting direction in this remix... Kinda retro sounding... yet proggy sounding...
I think a lot of the synths however, could have had better EQign done... There was a lot of unecessary sounds in the 500 hz region and really muddies things up.
Other than that, cool remix! |

thanx for reply J.L.
yeah, if i hadn't changed the whole remix from what i had, the quality could be better. Thtas why i shouldn't produce music with headphones only.'
cool that you liked it though.

| I love the beat in the intro. Interesting idea with the melody - but it just doesn't sound that good. Rest sounded fine though. |

| The intro is smooth, but the "8-bit cymbal crashes" is a tad high on volume? To me, it ruins my impression overall. Synths are ok, break is good but the main part lacks energy. |
