Lowpass lowpass lowpass

It's not something you'll have to do as often as highpass filtering, but anything above about 16 kHz really needs to be at a certain level, and going above that is really asking for trouble. Either turn the offending instrument down, or EQ it accordingly by rolling the top-end off with a lowpass filter. The hihat/noise you bring in at 0:14 = high frequency madness. You just can't do that - lowpass it.

I like the rest, but those high frequencies just obscure everything too much and make it too painful to listen to. Also, if you want mixdown advice, don't limit or soft clip the output.

If it is the master: Fix the tonal balance, apply 'low-level' multiband compression to the mids for starters, lock the kick in down, sweeten the stereo image (widen the lower frequencies for one), lower your limiter threshold...or better yet, don't do any mastering. :)

Sorry, I know I may be the only one who thinks all this, but mixdowns need to peak at -3.0 dB and have all their dynamics intact. At least, I can't commment on a mix if it breaks those 'rules'. Once mastering is done, it becomes a finished piece.

It's a nice track though. Just the quality that's a bit sloppy. Keep it up though, and I'll be awaiting more. :)

Cool tune Maor - very slick percussions. Not sure I won't to know how you thought up the name :D. But when is Vaseline on a Tuesday comin out?

I hope my comments weren't too harsh. I mean well, really. ;)

Until you're able to invest in a good converter and good monitors, or are aware of and able to hear these kind of nuisances, familiarise yourself with a good spectrum analyser. It's invaluable. And always monitor the mix at an average volume. Give your ears a rest, turn the volume down, and listen for a while. Overly bright content should be really noticeable now. And don't even both trying to listen to a limited or soft-clipped mix - you won't know if it's the actual mix you're hearing or the effect of the limiter/clipper. OK, so frequency content doesn't change as much, but the dynamics do. It just isn't good practise at all imo.
