I'm ing nervous as hell, being at the Guv definately helped.
I just wanted to know about the sound delay issue.
It's not a club, just a small restaurant, and I don't recall the DJ using monitor speakers the last time I was there, just the big Master speakers.
I was wondering does sound delay happen in small bar/restuarant/clubs
or is it more common in the bigger clubs.
Thats the part I'm worried about...I don't want to trainwreck every mix. |

| well, if there are no monitor speakers you may be ed in terms of a sound delay. But hopefully the place has a mixer that lets you cue multiple channels at once so you can at least beatmatch in your headphones. |

man you have sound delay even in small room of course sound delay is bigger in club than in bar/restaurant |

| You gonna get different delay depending on how big a room is but whats in the room and what the walls are would also make a difference. |

| if it's a small restaurant then i wouldn't be worried too much. it really depends on how the system is setup. if there aren't any monitors, it'd be nice if the closest speaker was pointing at you (but wouldn't that make it a monitor?). |

In situations like that I find that holding the cup of the headphone a slight bit away from your ear can help.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, as it's that type of venue I don't think people are going to be too hard on you.

And at absolute worst, just remember that your cue'd record is starting slower than whats playing, because of any delay. Just give it a quick spin if it's galloping and you'll be set.
Either that, or bring it in so low that practically only you can hear it, and if it's a little off, you can either pull it out, or adjust it that way before fading in. |
