| Pink Floyd pioneered techno.... with the track, "Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict", from the album, "Umugumma"... Although no bass or kick drum are present, the track is a series of recorded human voices, sped up and slowed down and cut and pasted together on analoug tape to create loop like effects.... Pink Floyd later re-visited the concept with the track, "On the Run", from ,"Darkside of the Moon", only this time, using synthesizers to create audio "samples"...... ;) |

| After the highly anticipated female singer for his album "Colorz" did simply not arrive at the studio in time, Kid Alex himself did all the vocals with his funny voice imitating an indian taxi driver in new york... This way, he became well-known for his crazy tracks, and he was eventually able to found a live band with him as a singer because his voice was so unique... Unexpected success, really :D |

a bit off topic but pretty cool:
in the movie The Shindlers List during the quiet scenes the director didn't like the completely silent parts. he thought it sounded too stale so he asked 10 persons to enter a small room and just stand completely still and silent for a couple of minutes. an audio engineer recorded that silence and used it as background sound for those scenes instead. the silence became much more "alive" suddenly. |

Marco V used to work with repairing fitness equipment.
John 00 Fleming almost got in a fight with Guy Ornadel a couple of years ago. J00F wrote this somewhere on his site.
Ornadel was playing before him and when his time was out he refused to leave the decks and the audience started booing and he was really mad. And J00f wrote "i was close to do one of my jiu jitsu moves on him". haha that would have been a sight!
Pulser got his name from a dildo (this is true).
Taucher also used to dj in a diving suite (hence the german name taucher = diver).
James Holden painted all covers for his releases on Silver Planet Recordings (Solstice etc). Not only a producer but also an artist! ;D |

Thats interesting... but the movie is actually called Schindler's List, because the guy's name was Oskar Schindler... There is a difference in german! :D |

No, they didn't. First of all recorded human voices cut and pasted together aren't staples of Techno. Secondly, there were other people making music with synthesizers and using the cut-and-pasting method long before Pink Floyd. Like Can, Faust, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Kraftwerk, Parmegiani, Sala, Dockstader, and Baltan. |

Actually, even Paul van Dyk got quite aggressive one time... When he was playing his millennium gig at new year's eve 2000, one guy climbed up the stage decoration exactly in that moment paul was playing his unique remix of robbie williams - millennium around 12 o'clock... So the music had to be stopped and the lights turned on to prevent that guy fall to death... Paul got so angry about that guy ruining his set that he slapped him in his face really hard when security personnel brought him down again from his climbing trip... That was a so cool action everyone was speaking about it at that time :D |
