sure dj sammy gets alot of around TA, but think about what he's doing. obviously he likes to spin some good trance (sometimes along with his cheese), but considering how many other djs there are, its hard to spin the same kind of music and get popular.. so one thing he did is release ty pop music, gets mainstream popularity, and now he spins in clubs that he wants, and will probably sell out crowds and play the same stuff armin/tiesto might play.
and of course people will think he's the , but they'll think he's the for actually spinning good music. sure its a sell-out move, but nonetheless, it worked for him, and he does what most TAs want to.. dj at big clubs in front of big crowds, and have them love you doing what you love to do.
i hate his releases, but looking at the tracklist from the link above, i would probably rock out to some parts of his sets... along with 90% of other TAs too

Na that, I reckon a DJ is defined by his productions. And the fact that he's willing to sit in a studio and write trance based around Brian Adam vocals is just sad. So his record collection doesnt consist entirely of ... Yee har. 90% of TA Djs could probably put on just as good a set as him.
Maybe if all these producers wernt commercialising their sound just so they could get by, there might actually be some good trance around at the moment rather than the current slew of piss weak melodic and McProg thats seems to appeal to a more and more commercial trance market.

very true, if you took this set and put it under tiesto's name it people would name it golden....
i for one HATE cheese and sammy, but his ibiza set on his site is pretty solid, not the best by any means, but way more than i expected, pretty hard and techy....suprised the hell out of me.. |

I work for DJ Sammy.
So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.
Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.
But trust me.... You don't.
I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you dont know what you are talking about.
This is how bad info gets passed around.
If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.
Cuz some TAs belive anything they hear. |

I'll disagree and say that a producer is defined by his productions and a DJ is defined by his sets (track selection, mixing, etc.) Let's not mix up the two, because there are lots of artists in EDM that can do one well and not the other. |

| As ive mentioned in another thread.. ive seen him live in BCM, Magaluff in Majorca, and he was very impressive, not even a hint of cheese in his set. |
