Recording problem

hi all i dont know if i posted this in the right forum but im having a hard time recording i cant seem to get a signal going from my mixer to sound forge i press record but i dont hear nothing after i stoped it so it looks like there is no signal going to my sounds card someone please help me fix this i need to make a demo tape by this weekned thanks.
also maybe some pictures can help .. |

| What mixer i am assuming your table mixer? Like you want to record a set? |

| soundforge has a 800#, just call and they will walk u through itq |

| the mixer i have is BEHRINGER VMX1000 and alll im trying to do is record my live sets nothing else and i cant call sound forge becuase my version is like a copied and my friend who gave me this said not to call or anything so im assuming someone might knoww what im doing wrong maybe with my computer setttings or something . |
