So.... WMC and MMC are two different things... Official WMC Dates have been announced and they are different than Miami Music Conference... This is gonna confuse the hell out of everyone.

It is with great pleasure we announce the dates for the 21st Annual Winter Music Conference and the 8th Annual Ultra Music Festival . Winter Music Conference will be held from March 24–28, 2006 at the Wyndham Miami Beach Resort and Ultra will simultaneously take place Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Miami's legendary Bayfront Park & Amphitheatre as well as the after party at American Airlines Arena.
In 2005 we exceeded our own expectations by increasing WMC participation by over 1000 people and selling out the over 48,000 capacity to Ultra Music Festival. We thank you for your support in making this possible!
This year, the WMC – Ultra partnership will continue for its 3rd consecutive year. We'd especially like to thank the artists and teams who so actively participated last year in both the WMC program and performed at Ultra Music Festival.
We plan to continue this tradition of excellence by working together to promote music within our own industry and on a global scale for the fans. Together with your participation we can make a difference.
As we evolve as a musical genre, bringing in rock and electro elements, more live performances and industry professionals, you will see a lot of new participants in this year's program. | Sounds like club Space/owner are trying to cash in on two weekends. I don't go to any of those overcrowded overpriced parties anyways. Sounds like b.s. to me. Most of the events will probalby be from the 23rd-28th, with space trying to book big DJs starting the weekend before. Forget it. I'm arriving either the 23rd or 24th and kicking it off properly at Radio 1 @ Nikki Beach, then out the 28th or 29th. Those are the real dates for WMC. |

Ditto, I don't give a about going to some packed ass club where I can't even stand comfortably much less dance and I can barely breathe. I'd rather go see the "smaller" name DJs (basically those that AREN'T playing at Space) and have fun and be able to breathe. I know the one place I'm not hitting up is Space. Or Ultra for that matter. |

The press release does not tell you that MMC is not the same company(s).
WMC is aligned with Ultra with their own dates and MMC has Global Gathering with their own dates.
MMC gave WMC a chance to be part of the longer MMC but they didn't want to. Thus all the clubs will following the MMC and clubbers should book trips based upon the MMC dates. I'm not picking sides here, but I know the clubs here in Miami are on the MMC side. Also the dates from year to year won't change, something WMC could never figure out.

For those around the world who will read this, who have no idea who the saleen is, please reads this post I made last year that clearly outlined what is going on now. Look at the date of the post.

These dates have been locked down for about 2 months now, they just had to work with the UK partners who were skeptical at first but as you see with GG they are on board. Everything was super hush hush. Even the big jocks had zero idea.. Dates would have gone out a month ago, but a local drama erupted over something that I won't dicusss...
Most clubs are booked up for the mmc already, most just have one or two more dates to fill. WMC is nonesense in terms of you getting on a plane and comming to Miami to party.
I'm curious to see if the Hard Rock is going to try and get in on the partying this year.. I have a feeling they will... |
