what can I say?
hip-hop is hotter (popular)
house prolly never will be. but I'll just stick to house because hip-hop mostly sounds cheap and crappy to me. but there are exceptions.
anyways it a dumb debate (imo) they are both defending their "genre" in a silly kind of way, and not with any good facts. |

Yeah I agree, it seems they both are pretty clueless on the genre's but it's interesting to see the discussion. |

lol reminds me of t his one time when a kid who listens to nothing but rap said to me "'techno' is so dull and boring, there's no real soul and raw emotion cause its made with computers and stuff"
what do you think hip hop is made with? spaghetti? |

i am head over heels in love with both!
i love house & prog/electro & even funky house. i like progressive and trancey progressive...like female vocals and melody with a hard progressive beat...
if you ask any of my friends they'll tell u whenever we go to a club in south beach, i ALWAYS end up in the hip hop room at one point or another. i like dancing to house, but i like dancing to hip hop just as much. i think hip hop is easier to dance to actually.
they are both forms of edm though as far as i'm concerned... |

er I thought these debates died when people realised it is only opinions of people.
and for real, this is the worst 'debate' ive ever seen. If they wanted to compare album sales and say that is a measure of a genres 'hottness', great. but it seems like they have no idea what a genre is, what dancing is, and what it means for one genre to be 'hotter'. |

so ...
if we are going to compare hip hop to edm, then we have to talk about of course tiesto ... what will happen to the edm world when the dutch mafia makes a couple of bullet holes into tiesto's head ? will mainstream trance ever be the same ? will tiesto mixes still be alive after he is dead, and the tiesto purists will claim he did hundreds of unreleased mixes that he didn't want put out ( a la 2pac ... he had hundreds of songs that he never released ..) .. can we compare 2pac's legacy to tiesto's current legacy ?
:conf: ...
/stupid .. |

then the tiesto purists will blame the ferry purists that the mafia close to ferry shot down tiesto, because of jealousy, and hatred that ferry was always behind tiesto in the netherlands .. the ferry purists will claim it is b.s., and we see a big fight between the ferry purists and the tiesto junkies ..
then ferry gets shot down by the dutch mafia, and the ferry purists start to mourn the loss of their edm god .. they blame the tiesto junkies for having tiesto's mafia shoot down ferry as a way of payback .. tiesto's junkies deny the accusations, and then this creates turf war in the small country of the netherlands .. the ferry purists vs the tiesto junkies ..
while they are fighting, and killing each other off, cors fijeman feels he needs to pay a tribute to tiesto, after tiesto covered and mixed fijeman's song with jan johnston ('venus') .. so cors does a remake of the classic song 'sparkles', and makes a tribute video aimed at tiesto .. during the video, cors mourns the death, and starts doing the tiesto dance ....

| Argh! I can't read any more of this nonsense! Who chose these two simpletons to debate this?? I mean seriously! How closed-minded can you be? It doesn't sound like either of them know much about the genres they're defending. This article made me want to barf! |
