holden/lazarus review... wtf just happened here? (pg. 2)

It sucks to hear it sucked, last time holden was here he in ripped it. Sot i agree with you that the border community (weird offbeat electro minmial) is annyoing at times, but when he gets out of that minimal offbeat stuff he really plays some crazy (at least that time a few months ago at spirit)! My first time i heard Janeiro (james holden remix)at a club it blew me away, and the reaction from the crowd was nuts. Its crazy how he took that commercial vocal track, and just made it into an airy , atmospheric , techy kind of holden dub which is amazing. Not many producers can do what he does, he keeps it minimal on the elements but yet his tunes and remixes have more feel then those edm tracks with tons of elements. This is a true example of quality over quantity.
Im glad i couldnt make it to this one though, i hate a sausage fest. Unless its on my plate on a sunday brunch.

the weather sucked. i had comps and didn't even go. couldn't be bothered. even though it stopped raining it was still yucky.
also, most ppl i know are going to cox and didn't want to do two nights in a row. |

i hope holden rocked it if he comes back on at 4. it would be cool to have them to do b2b but i doubt that would happen. i think the saturday hip hop parties are bringing in s that are spilling over to the friday night events as well. NOT GOOD. ffs.

damian started picking up after a while.
holden came back on, started taking off, but my friend had to get home.
we leave arounf 4:30 and spend the next 2 hours walking up and down 36th,37th,38th, and 39th streets looking for his car.
turns out it got towed cause it was a muni-meter block :whip: |

right!!!! that's exactly what i'm talking about- i've seen damian 3 times now and heard numerous live sets from him and i was just totally in shock at the way he was mixing... literally, it was very close to cutting in and out. i swear.
