Hi there everyone. I am fortunate enough to be able to travel next weekend to Europe from the US. I don't have a lot of time though, I will be there only October 21st and 22nd. I will be in Stockholm on the 21st and then flying out to Copenhagen in the early afternoon on the 22nd. Because we have such limited time and I have no experience being in either city (or country for that matter), I want to make the most of the time I have there. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some advice as to the "must see" nightclubs or bars as well as any DJs that are playing in either place that are exceptional. Also, if there are any shops or other places of interest that I should check out, please let me know. Forgive me for beng fairly ignorant for both cities, but I was lucky enough to book a last minute flight and feel a little overwhelmed with where to go and what to do.
Thanks for anyone's help in advance. |

| Definatly get a hold of someone and find out whats going on. I was in Gothenburg, Oslo and Stockholm over 9 days and with my sleep schedule being so messed up and not knowing what was out there I definatly messed up. I would be sleeping by 6 or 7pm and wake up at 3am and just walk around outside my hotel smoking cigarettes and just looking for something to do. I wish so bad I would have planned ahead and done something while I was there instead of nothing. I loved Sweden though, I am planning on comming back soon and doing the trip right this time. |

Hm well I dont know if there is any "good" dj's playing in stockholm, I am pretty sure it isn't.
But there is clubs like Grodan (the frog), Berns, Göta källare that I can recommend. They play pretty good music and not just rnb and hip hop as most of the clubs does.
Pubs/bars: there is a street called götgatan, there you can find alot of pubs and even some clubs. I can recommend you have a look there.
What kind of clubs do you want to visit? Just 100% electronic dance music or a mix? If you go to a club that plays mixed music in stockholm you can find more girls.
And what kind of pubs?, just cheap beer, fancy, or just a nice place to have a few beers at? |

There's a club called Tribalism running every friday at Moatjé in Stockholm (city area). Superb atmosphere and open 'til 05 in the morning. The lineup for this friday should be announced soon. (www.moatje.se/moatje). And oh, if you're into house/electro you should def check out Cocktail Club @ Grodan (also centrally located). Very intimite and cool club. (www.grodan.se/cocktailclub).
Update (both parties are going to rock!):
Lineup for Tribalism 21/10-05
Özgür Can
Inkfish / Andreas Hermansson
Ken1

| I don't mind mixed music at a club, but I definitely don't want to go to one that plays 100% hip-hop and RnB. We have enough of that here in the states, although I have heard that Europe has a lot of those types of clubs now-- which is really too bad since hip-hop is so awful now. There's about 5 artists that are worth listening to, and then there's about 100 horrid crunk songs--- but I digress. I guess we are looking for places that are different, fairly "European", and have a lot of energy. We are both trance and techno fans, so we'll probably check out Ozgur, which sounds like a lot of fun, although I'm not too familiar with the rest of the DJs playing there. We still dont' have a lot of info on Copenhagen, so any places that are recommended would be appreciated. we also are staying next to the Blue Moon in Stockholm, which is supposed to be a decent place. Thanks for the heads up on Ozgur! |

The biggest issue you are having is the limited time you have over here since you would be able to sneak around to many more events if you took your time for them (some weeks).
Btw I can't really imagine somebody is flying across the ocean only for 2 days of CPH and STH? :conf: |

| Haha, yeah, I know, my friend called me up, told me that he would pay on his business expense account for pretty much my whole trip, so I have basically one weekend over there. I fly from the US to London on Thursday night (arriving in London Friday morning), flying to Stockholm Friday, Copenhagen on Saturday, and back to London for Sunday and Sunday night, leaving London Monday afternoon. Its not ideal, but hey, its close to being free and it sure beats staying in my town for another boring weekend. I'm sure by the end I will be tired...and hopefully not arrested for any late night antics :) |
