It totally depends on which sect you are of a religion the extent to which you believe the Bible to be "truth" anyways.
I was raised Roman Catholic.
I don't believe Eve bit an apple and we're all ruined though. Come on. |
she didnt literally bit an apple.. she ate the forbidden apple..

There are a lot of fundamentalist christians everywhere.
They are like a plague and their bigoted, ignorant and intolerant ways pretty much on God's face.
They suffer from severe case of 'do as I say, not as I do' syndrome'.
If you really want to go see them, go to Biblebelt USA.:whip: |

pssst..... there is no mention of apples in that story (they eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.... it's a metaphore... or alagory I'm not sure how many times a metaphore has to be revisited before it qualifies as an alagory but it's one of the two). |

My point as well. The bible was never meant to be taken exclusively in a litteral sense, however, people have misunderstood it for centuries and even worse believe things about it that don't even appear in it. The apple is a good example of this as is the image of hell being of fire and brimestone, neither of these things appear in the bible but people believe them to be true and worse yet believe that absolutely and objectively true. |
