playing on other peoples setups

played on mk2's and a chepish mixer for the first time last night, it certainly more difficult to beatmatch than my mk5's, maybe it because they are really really old. The mixer (gemini ps626) was just awful, i think i took for granted all the extra little helpy bits on my setup, like the pitch reset button for making minor adjustments, and the cue channel volume on my mixer. Also, the eq knobs on the gemini were so close together, it was quite difficult to play with them.

hey ho, never mind, back my own little setup now :D

What mixer do you have yourself?

i always find it significantly easier to beatmatch on MKIIs in clubs than i do with my M5Gs in the house. dont know why that is - maybe the analogue vs digital pitch...

Why complain? It's not the equipment that makes a Bad DJ. It's the music that makes a True DJ.

I currently have MK2's and when I first played on an m5g, I found it alot easier to find the pitch let alone move the pitch slider. The start ups felt smoother and the over quality was much better of that turntable. The pitch reset is something that I hope to get modded soon, that click gets in the way on the mk2's.
