Hi all,
I DJ using PCDJ, but I need a way to get vinyl onto the computer. I'm not going to be doing any DJing with this deck, just ripping to the PC. Is a cheaper belt drive with a better cartridge an option, or am I going to have problems with the BPMs floating around since it's a belt-driven deck? I am really more interested in sound quality and precision of the BPM than anything else.
Thanks a lot.

belt drive is not a problem. The most high-end turntables are belt-driven. So a good cartridge with a good stylus sounds like a great idea. Only problem could be that not all belt-drive tables are the same when it comes to precision. What I'm trying to say is that a 50$ turntable could have the BPM floatin all over the place, belt-driven or not.
Just check one out in the store, have a look at the dots pn the platter and if you can see any moving (at +/- 0) then don't buy it. |
