| now that i saved alot of money, i wana go into the production world. i got myself iPowerbook G4, M-Audio Radium49 midi controller, and Abelton Live 5 and Acid Pro 5, what other equipments do i need ? i want to buy everything to have a full studio, so what am i still missing ? |

| what is the difference between MIDI Controllers and Synthesizers Workstations ? and do u have to use both of them for music production or just one of them |

| I dont know much about production, but in my opinion I think you shoudl start l;earnign witht he equipment yo uhave, and then you will know what will be better for you to upgrade, because witht he equipment you just got, I think you can spend a few months or a year learnign to use everything properly there. |

My advice to you is that you shouldn't buy all your synths right away. Play around with sequencers until you've found one you're comfortable with, and then learn how it works - then once you have some experience composing with crappy free vsts and demo samples, you'll have a better idea of what synths you'll be most comfortable working with, and you can build your studio gradually around that.
At some point I was trying to get my hands on every piece of equipment that was reputed to be good, and now I've got a bunch of stuff that I never use. |

Acid Pro does NOT work on a Mac. Perhaps Reason would be a better buy. It also works well with Ableton Live.
If you're using software synths, all you need is a midi controller. Don't worry about a workstation yet (which actually creates audio). |
