I'm not really a big psy trance fan, quite the reverse in fact so it may be a little hard for me to review it fairly but I will give it a whirl.
I really don't think the intro needs the samples, found that offputting almost straight away. But that's just my opinion.
The kick sounds very strained and may be impacted by other frequences thus giving it that sort of phazed sound.
I also miss the snarly little basslines that you get with a lot of psy.
Not sure what happens to the kick at around 3:30 but it's sounds like someone is dropping a bad mix.
It does have good points too in terms of melody but this definately sits to high in the overall mix and you may find that you need to cut some of the lower non-important frequencies in the synths to bring out the percussion.
Some of the accompanying synths sound a bit random in their melody but again this may be my trance background rather than musical knowledge coming through.

hhehehe it is a bad mix you hear =) becus i cuted it.
im also new to the goa / psy scene , my second goa so im evloving
melodic trance is my speciality hehe , yes it isnt properly mixed or mastered and it wont be i lost all my data My Hd crashed a few H ago.
:( i dont have anything left its all gone cubace samples vsti and all. |

Some nice elements to this track although it seems a bit erratic at times.
The vocals are very nice though are overused a bit esp at the start as previously stated.
Synths at 2.20 are great stuff too. The sort that work very well in a psy track, quite interesting and flowing. Lots of movement and openess.
Your bassline needs work though. There are some odd chord changes throughout that the bassline is following. Your not leading up to them very well and letting the listener anticipate the journey. The kick could do with more work too. It just lacks bottom end and prescence and doesnt work too well with the bassline.
Keep at it though, I love the style of this production. Very melodic morning style psy. Worked right, this could be a really killer track. |
