im thinking of upgrading my mixer to the pioneer djm 300. i noticed that it has an automatic BPM counter and ive read on these forums that u should just cover up the counter. i know its not good to rely on it but is it even acurate? also what is the diffrence between the 300 and the 300s. thanks

What is your current mixer?

Because in most cases going to a djm 300 is barely an upgrade.

i love my DJM-300. the counter is pretty damn accurate. But i just upgraded it to a DN-X1500 last week. it's 1000% different. But i would still recommend the DJM-300 as a entry level mixer.

The price differnce between the DJM-300 and DJM-300s is 0, zip, zilch, nada. s= silver. the models are black and there is silver. Speaking of that i'm wiling to sell mine. i have the DJM-300s only had it since march i belive. still have the orginal box too. :)

For sound quality on a small mixer you will be hard pushed to beat the DJM300, yeah it's not exactly feature packed but as a simple good quality mixer, which is what it was designed to be, it excels.

you may as well go for something better than the DJM-300 for the same price (around $350 USD).

Check out the new ECLER NUO2. It's a 2-channel mixer, which has better faders, better EQ (the EQ's kill), has kill switches, an FX loop with PRE/POST settings (if you plan to get external FX, you cant even use it with the DJM-300) and a seperate channel for a MIC. Plus it has XLR outputs and booth output. AND adjustable curves on all faders.

Seriously, for the same price, it has ALOT more features than the 10 year old Pioneer.

Maybe even look at a "higher-end" Numark or something

i have a djm300 as my first mixer and i love it. its got good sound quality for the price (i got mine for $192 used on ebay) and its pioneer , so you know its going to be good build quality. the eq's are fine, they go a good bit farther than most (even the 500). go for it, get a used one in good condition on ebay.
