NO- the general opinion was to stay away from the V600s....which are e.

The V6/7506 are some of the finest headphones you can buy....for studio and for dj use.

i love my 7506's

now that it's been over a month and they've been properly broken in, they sound amazing

i always thought sony headphones were way over priced for what they were. bit like all of sony's stuff really.

audio technica ATH-A900s ($195) completely blow away all sony cans in terms of bass response, mid range response and accurate soundstage. the only sony thats up to par start at twice the price and even then the A900 holds its own.

grado sr80s and up are damn good too but they look like ass and they arent as comfortable as the A900s.

Now it is down between the 7506 and the Technics RP1200.

The 1200's have the side swivel which I like. But...how is the sounds/weight/comfort?

proud owner of sony 7506s. the only headphone i'd recommend above this, in terms of sound quality, are Sennheisers (HD25s i believe it is). however, my friend, even though i agree they allow for better DJing, you can hear the tracks start to drift a lot better with em and all, has destroyed his pair of Senns by now, and my Sony's are intact. and the difference in sound, while noticeable, is not SO big that he can't DJ correctly with mine. i am also confident he'll go deaf sooner by using those cans. ing LOUD...

The RP-DJ1200s don't swivel like others do, they fold backwards rtaher than side to side.

Its hard to explain, heres some pics which i hope will make it clearer

RP-DJ1200

These are the pioneers, which have a conventional swivel

Its up to you though, I am just pointing it out in case you were expecting the normal swivel.

HOWEVER, I own and love the V6.
And I don't miss a swivel at all. I do have some others that do swivel and never use it, but thats just my style I suppose.

+1 for praise of the 7506. Sound is excellent, you will hear every little up!

They're also very comfortable in comparison to other cans I've tried like, the 700's or the technics. The 7506 are super light and ear cups completely encluse your ear blocking out alot of outside noise.

i got the sony v6's as my first headphones and after using them for a good deal of time, i can say that i feel no need to upgrade. not having swivel is not a problem, they sit comfortably and are stable when you just push a side behind your ear. they sound great too. my roommate always tries to steal em to watch movies on his computer with cause they sound so nice. :wtf:

see how steve lawler is doing in that avatar above? I have a habbit of doing that from time to time. Without swivel...that is not possible right? My current phones act like they might break if i did that :(
