This is a 'heavy' trance track I'm in the process of finishing.

I would love some feedback.

Go to this Site & download the MP3:

Tempo: 135 bpm
Duration: 6:54
Distortion: yes, plenty of it!

Have fun with it & I look forward to any replies. :p

Xeno.

*EDIT*
REV 2 update: Ive turned down the distortion a bit to reduce the amount of clipping.

Hi.... original beginning in the track... Thereīs too much distortion in the track imo. Itīs really hard even to hear the bass drum... I think that you have mastered the track too loud ( it is louder than most commercial tracks ) because it sounds like it is clipping all the time. The dark atmosphere is there, thatīs for sure!

Cheers, Lakeus

New track ( melodic psy ): Love in Space - 140 bpm

Ive been listening to it on my Grados & Mackies & the clipping is not apparent... So I just tried 128kbps version my old headphones (old sony cans) & there is definitly some clipping happening. Ill master it & get the levels right.

Thanks for the feedback mate. :p

Opening is a bit quiet.

Yeh, there's some definite clipping in the loud parts.

The dynamic contrast is interesting, but I don't think it needs to be as extreme as it is.

I think you could do more to make your hats interesting. They seem kinda monotonous as they are.

I swear, I'll always be able to tell that I'm listening to a XenocreatoR track. You have such a unique and well-defined style.

Hi you!

I really like this, Xeno Peter G.

There were brief moments where I felt you could achieve more by simplifying the sound....overall, it excited me.

It feels like sex...or it makes me feel like sex...not sure which...

but I felt tension building...mounting...nice lasting climax...and then the post Orgasmic euphoria.

:D

pooooh.. Dont know about this one xeno.. im more used to the more raw and dark tracks you do..
blabladibla. imo. :p
I have to admit its really original ;) Id still like to hear the finished version!

wow... ;) this is awesome... first few seconds... neat experimental. the kick comes in.... ya its clipping... really noisy... i like it... i turned down the bass on my eq and the song didn't change... unfortunately... the clipping is coming from the song... this one pushes the limits of my audio player

Hmm, interesting track. Not quite my style. Sounds like a hardcore drug song. Ever heard of those old mid 90's techno tracks "ravers on dope" or something like that.

*some* of the distortion sounds terrible on my computer speakers. It's too digital sounding, if it was more of an analog distortion I think it would rock.

Some synth patches, especially the one at the beginning need to be more refined. Needs a little more time being tweaked and processed.

I got annoyed with the track playing after awhile and had to shut it off. Sorry, just my opinion and only that.

Very unique song Xeno. Kinda sounds like your previous tracks but at the same time can see the improvements in structure to the previous ones. That giant brass lead and phased percussion patterns are definately you.

Nice buildup at 4.45. You create some good atmosphere here.

The synth preogramming is really good too. A wide array of sounds creating a very full spectrum.

I think you crank the intensity too soon. Its lacking in buildup. You reveal the melody too soon I think. Maybe try some more atmospheric effects at the start and really build the sinister vibe this track has. I also think a breakdown of some sort could be really interesting or atleast a few short psy style pauses.. whre everything stops for just a bar or two.

Dont really know what genre this is, so I'll try to avoid making references. But overall, I think you need to create more random fx and sounds to sustain this sort of track and keep the listener guessing. To be honest I kind found the melody to be verging on dark cheese at times since it was repeating so much.

Damn original track though and like the title suggests, is actually quite evocative and challenging to listen to.

Hi all, Ive just edited the original post & added the latest revision of this tune. Check it out :p

Hey Pete,
looking forward to hearing your new tune. I almost didnt notice this one, a shame...
Now commenting as I listen...
The intro is something like an invitation to a psycho circus. Wicked, although I would reduce the sharp heights of the introducing synth maybe a little...
1:12 ... great, great!! That sine arp synth in the beginning works just perfectly. I like the bass a lot, nice melody.
1:55 ... Wow, an awesome change to the whole tune, it gets very trippy now. The heights on one of the synths or hats are a little too sharp, they are a little disturbing... anyway, great how this evolves.
2:36 ... the psycho circus melody is back ;D
3:34 ... hell yeah, bring on the madness. Your best tune so far, definately.
5:03 ... great fill here.
5:13 ... I dont really like the new orientation of the tune, that synth is maybe just not my taste, but I'm missing the madness a little here, if you know what I mean ;) ...
Anyway, now towards the end this becomes pwnage again ;) ... with lots of playful synths that are skillfully woven together - one of your trademarks for sure.

I didnt hear the first versions but I can clearly hear that there is a lot of work behind this tune. You did a good job on mastering (some minor fixes are still needed to make this ready for a CD), but it really struck me how well the track and the melodies progressed.

btw. I just received your packet :)
