More retarded comment i have heard in ages. It's like saying the shoes a runner wears will dictate exactly how well he will perform. That is the furthest thing from the truth.

When Killer track after Killer track is dropped in a set, it really doesn't matter, what matters is how it is brought in, what kind of a story is being told. Just because they guy is dropping CHOON (what a dumb word) after CHOON, does not make the set a quality set. Prime example, Armin @ LoL. On paper, those tracks are killer. Toss them together, and every 3 songs, the flow is broken. Perfect example of what not to do.

Now, onto what shiah said. I'll stick my arm out here and say this: I agree, kinda.

When DJs trainwreck in a set, well, not much to be said. We are all human, and errors happen, but when these errors are constantly occurring, something is wrong. Hear the mistake, fix it. A mix lasts 45 + seconds, fix it in 5, and the rest is awesome. But when I hear DJs play out the mix in absolute unphased and mismatched beats, I wonder why they DJ.

Regarding people telling others they are great, when in fact they aren't, well, that is something I have come to terms with. I try and be the best I can at everything, and there will always be someone better than me, or people bashing me. It's human nature. I just hope that people are strong enough to realize when things need to change. That simple.

As for how shiah came about addressing the exact same issues I did, pretty disrespectful. It was uncalled for.

This is how I feel about the points he brought up. In the end, if the DJ is happy, his crowd is happy, then mission accomplish. Be warned though, the crowd changes, and we can't all make everyone happy.

since ch00n = killer,
more ch00ns > less ch00ns!
questions?

Noone was saying that Chris or Robben did better job than Armin or PVD! We just appreciate guys for their efforts, dedication and wonderful time we had together listening to the music. And they did a good job! Thank you again guys! Keep it up!

cheers

No,

MORE CHOONS !> LESS CHOONS

that is not always true, you need to see what I mean...

I would much rather hear a set that flows perfectly, with no CHOONS, than a random set full of CHOONS. SIMPLE.

hahaha great comment.
definately agree with that and the armin lol analogy.
in fact i agree with shiah as well.
Nothing else in a set matters if the mix isn't on..not the songs/efx/eqs none of it..
if the mix is off.. for gods sake fixxxx itttt..

and choon is dfinately one ing stupid word, espically the way people use it on here... check out an asot message board, those people think every song armin plays is a choon... OMG CHOOOOOON!!
haha.. sometimes i wonder what songs these people consider bad.

I would just like to know where you get off saying something like that.

Yeah sure you can have your own opinion, but once you start telling people to stop DJ'ing, and ing
belittling them for trying, man your gonna flamed.

take ur community of rookies.. learn something about the real "scene" and not this "TA" code of rainbow up the rear end conduct.. and maybe .. just maybe... u guys will be the ones to hear wut i..and ill tell u many others are hearing.. stop this craze.. we all want good music/djs but going about it in this "clique" fasion stickin with each other cawz were "friends" is horse ... and pal.. no i dont want ur friendship.. or any others for that matter.. im posting to give these 2 guys some constructive critique... they have potential.. just drop the "dj" name mfor now.. cawz trust me ur by far from one...

For starters, who are you to say such things?

Did you ever think that they knew they were screwing up when they did. If you heard it so did they and so did everyone else.
So dont you worry they know what happend, and of course they feel bad. But you don't ing get in their
face and tell them how they sucked hardcore! Do you have any idea what thats like?

Sorry if people like us, their friends, don't opperate like you do.

Why don't you consider what its like on the otherside before you post something like that again.
shiah
so what you are saying is you have low self esteem?.... take it for what you want.. bottom line is if u suck dont be promotin urself like your the next big thing.. when ur not... thats my problem.. you dont see me on here cursin n swearin like an imature 2 year old like urself....

STREAMLINE ""would just like to know where you get off saying something like that. ""

last i checked this was a public forum.. and i could post any opinion i had.. and in my humble opinion.. like i stated above and in the previuos posts.. if u promote urself like the next big thing.. going on live 2 air.. and u suck?... well then u should be prepared to get flammed... dont make me look liek the bad guy douch bag..

again, i never said they sucked "hardcore"... and no i dont know wuts it slike cawz i dont put myself in that position to get ribbed... that and well i dont suck so i dont konw wut it feels like... again like i said im entitled to my own opinion and last i checked these guys were adults.. they dont need pepole behind them kssin their asses when they are constantly blowing... critisism makes one better..and obviously the lack of critisism from the inner ring of "tas" isnt gettin these guys anywhere...

lastly... and another point y attempt to do wut they are doing live.. when it sound better just tossin in cds as the songs finish.. ur better off being a radio dj then some trainwrecker... who well really never gets better...

go "" CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON "" on that pal . peace

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the "London" support... oh wait, I believe this is the second time I said this in 1 week and yet still the same thing. Thanks, again.

I guess I'll refrain from giving advice to you in the future regarding your newly purchased Final Scratch amp that is on deliever, I won't bother helping you find the best deal by asking my friends, and god help me if I ever assist in helping you get things started.

I am however just a loley amateur DJ who apparently can't mix for . I'm sick of you guys thinking you're the best thing on the planet. It's really getting annoying and frustrating. I don't remember any of you starting out mixing perfectly for 4hrs.

Sorry I don't have the best turntables out there either. SOmething that hold's pitch would be a + in my books for starters. But we work with what we can.

You seem to miss the all important part of DJing. Yes, mixing is crucial, however so is performance. If people like what you're doing, then go nuts on it.

I was in the chat and noticed a good 20 something people enjoying things on a 30 person server. I see 2 nice complaings. 2/30 isn't bad in my books.

How about this: for future reference to the Londoner who tunes in to every one of my shows to criticize and be-little me every week: if you don't like it, don't listen.

Your comments are becoming incredibly unwelcome and it's very frustrating for someone who's trying to work with what they have.

As for the people who have defended me and enjoy what I do, thank you, I appreciate it. It's for you that I play out the tunes and strive to become better at DJing.

But, I'm sure I'll see even those haters out at my show tonight anyway, to continue ridiculing and poking fun at someone who's giving it their best shot.

Again, thanks for the support all.

WHOA, bring it back drama queen. When did I ever once state in my replies to this thread that I think you suck? Never. I merely stated that mixing is key for a DJ. I haven't once said you sucked. Like everyone, we need practice plain and simple.

Thank you very much for the direct attack on me, when I have NEVER, EVER attacked you in any way. This response and the one you made in the DJ section towards me show me that you are very insecure inside, as you take every little comment as an insult. Maybe you will improve vastly when you stop thinking everyone is out to get you.

I have never wanted to see anyone fail, nor will I. I just don't see where you get off saying I directly insult you, when I have never done so in a single thread/email/im.

Best of luck tonight @ Colosseum, tear it up!

Sincerely,
Andre LeFort

Fine, you never did say that. But my point wasn't to quote you or I would have....I was suggesting it
as a gerneral consensus.

Here we are again going around the "you said I said" circle. Man, I said right off the bat your entitled
to your own opinion. So maybe you should check again. And what I am talking about is not your opinion.
You try to provoke a responce with the things you say like:

"your community of rookies"...

"learn something about the real 'scene' ".

This is why I said who are you to say such things. I really want to know what kind of awsome power
you might have to come in here and say that, then i'll respect what you have to say.

Well heyyyyyyyy now! You don't say!! I'm sorry, but if you ASK every single DJ in this world, they can
tell you that at one point they "knew" what it felt like. So, where do you fall into that category.
Oh thats right, you don't....hmm something is a little fishy here...

dude, look at you

i think you like the idea of being a DJ more than you like DJing

you can make the flashiest website and have pictures of yourself in some subway wearing your DJ cans, you can get a spot on some weekly net show but you can't mix

why wouldn't you learn to mix first before going so public with yourself? i think you're getting carried away and it's gonna stain your rep.

other DJ's would probably look at your approach and think one word:

Poser.

just my 2c.

This is getting out of hand. I'm not really appreciateing the personal attacks here.

If you like what I do fine, if not, also fine.

Whatever ... why mess w/ the all knowing trance addict gods of music in the first place

Chris, just relax.

Ok, now time for my $0.02, i never claimed to be that good, i never claimed to be the best on this side of the pond, or any side for that. But i gave it a shot. Was my mixing great? no. But in the vs battle, it sounded decent enough that you wouldn't have to cover your ears.

I truely appriciate people's honesty when it comes to it, so the others might flame you both, but i thank you, because hearing criticism will only make you work harder, and hearing good things will only make you think, you've already got it down.

Cheers, Mikey.
