^^^ HAHA, yeah some guys a while back made a Text-mode version of quake. I think they basically re-wrote the rendering engines to use only ascii text characters.

From what I recall you needed a linux install though in order to run it.
It gave me major headaches but after playing it for a bit, i got used to the ascii and could actually see the monsters. |
