just got it today - and love it :)

this definitely is not a mix cd, but rather it's almost like a composition - very interesting music

Wonderful work by Mr. Hawtin. Like princess said it's above and beyond just a mix, it's a work of art. I forgot I was listening to a full length CD while I had this on. It's almost like one long progressing composition.

While I may not enjoy Hawtins' sound all that much (Or at all for that matter) the man is a genius... I didn't enjoy this disc much in the way that I would listen to a traditional mix, but to say it was "bad" because of that would be a travesty. Hawtin's technical understanding of sound is amazing...

And add that to the fact that I LOVE Hawtin threads just because it get to go bleEp BLOOP bop mack zip BORNK duddda di dooo!

The only beef I have with the three volumes in the 'series' is the album covers. I mean seriously. I have all three. When people see the cover of the first, they think i'm a drugged up raver. When people see the cover of Closer To The Edit, they think i'm some kind of damn geeky nerd. When people see the cover of Transitions, they call me a gay faggotron. And when i'm carrying all three people call me a gay geeky drugged up raving faggotron. Now that's no way to be going about things.

Why does it matter what other people think? And I just got DE9: Closer to the edit yesterday, listened to it thoroughly two times already and I was on the edge-of-my-seat the entire time... very impressive work by Mr. Hawtin. I'll definitley be collecting the other two volumes of the DE9 series in the near future.
Cheers :clown:,
