... WELL, if I had the cash to spend, I'd grab one of these instantly. It would make the ultimate production machine.

hahah, nope. but i think they both produce the same extensive amounts of heat.
They're both 64bit processors, but even if the athlons were "faster", they wouldn't be able to keep up with the 1.25Ghz front-side-bus on the G5s
... now think about this.... Apple is still gonna switch to Intel Chips by 2007. By then they might hit 8Ghz processors, and make a Quad-CPU machine with those..... that's 32Ghz! :nervous: :nervous: :eek: :eek:
I bet these machines are bassed from the countries against the U.N. and the U.S. :rolleyes: |

No, actually - but that's besides the point anyway. People buy these types of machines for media production because there is no equivalent software available for PC (or the PC version has been "dumbed down").
But really... who cares? I could spec out a $150,000 8-way server if I wanted to, but so what?
