Speaking of Wolf3D, I read that some guys had ported it for the graphic calculator. Pretty awesome :)

The title of this thread has made me laugh all day long...

(think of it in a non-movie, non-game context)

lol... I even started my own clan :p

When did you play? Before I discovered Trance I was heavy into the Quake scene. I had a busy Quake mod/hack/patch web site before stomped.com came around. I had my own clan - 'Hookage Inc.' and I was jaCK ThE HoOkeR - reason being we were all experts in using the grappling hook, a guy from Ontario named ZoiD coded the mod back in 1996 and some of us beta tested it on this istar.ca server - so when it became standard on all CTF servers we were so good at it that we used to wreak havok on opponents. Grapple, swing around and unleash the nail gun - great on defending the flag - extra points for long range hooks where opponent couldn't see you! :stongue:

If you still have Quake 1 installed you can get a 400k highlight reel of our gameplay with the hook (lol) - its here - look for jack the hooker.

Quake 2 wasn't the same in gameplay as Quake 1 for me - that stuff they implemented in multiplayer action to mask/compenstate for latency only screwed things up, I could never get used to it.

man... that name looks reaaaaaallly familiar! Been so long tho, I could just be imagining. I don't even remember exactly when I played... but it was from the times well before QuakeWorld until way after Gamespy was standard. I saw the times before and after graphics accelerators (TRANSPARENT WATER AND PORTALS BABY!!! IN EH!) :)

I know what you're sayin about Q2... that's when I switch to Unreal.. and never looked back. Like you, I converted our clan (1D) over to an unreal maps/mods site... we existed before planetunreal.com. Fun times for sure!

I'd love to get Quake running again... would be fun to see how much things have changed.. but I don't have it any more.

I still remember playing doom in grade school with my friends. We would play with all the lights out in the middle of the night. I remember how we would all be scared less afterwords at any little noise we heard. What a bunch of little bitches we were :haha:

I can't wait to check this flick out now. So many memories:tongue2 .
